This one took a bit long, but mostly because i tried with SO build, current build works really well but still relies on AI doing dumb ai stuff.

My gripe with midline stations is if you destroy one part the whole station now has a blind spot for ships to vent and restore themselves Makes it easy to kill them though lol

Nah it is hardest one to kill, at least in this way, shield coverage is really good and main module is really tanky

It goes both ways. What annoys me about fighting midline stations is unless I surround it from all directions, every time the module rotates away from my fleet it can freely vent and undo my damage progress.

Well, no. This save has graphic lib, and command console + other libraries. It doesnt affect balance though, everything is doable in vanilla. (But you would have to get lv15 captain, here i cheated and got 15 skill points at lv1)

even though this is a great success, theres no reason for the station to ever drop shields when a module's flux is at ~0. you deceive them with your movement and the station thinks it could save some flux by dropping shield and then it doesnt have enough time to raise up shields when you go back facing it, because of the phase ship speed. so this is technically a win, but not for me

Well this is unchanged vanilla bahaviour so idk whats the problem. Also i did same thing with harbinger those are doable without shield ai abuse.

While i agree midline station is generally weakest in battle, it is ironically the hardest to defeat this way. While best station (high tech) is easest to cheese, even doable with a kite.

I hate phase ships. Chasing the cowards around during battle, the way they avoid player interaction, dumb. The slow mo when the player uses then making the whole battle take longer..

@@davidburnett5049Well then, paragraph time. If they retreat just use emp fighters, or fast emp frigates like hyperion scarab or wolf. Or engage them until their cr runs out (boring way). Honestly no reason to pursue retreating phase ship since their cargo is small anyway. In combat there are 3 approaches, 1.ignore them until their cr runs low (fast phase frigates), weapons like tac laser, ion beam or anti armor ballistic will keep them at bay, i really recommend protecting your bigger easy to flank ships with sth like omen so phase ships wont go behind you. (Larger phase ships are slow and easy to outrange, dont go after them focus on battle, you will clear them out later.) 2.Pressure them until they are high on flux then focus fire. (Anything bigger than phase frigate) Use fighters, emp claw is really good. Locust or pillums also are good for keeping those ships far from you. You can also clear out normal enemy ships then try surrounding phase ones with frigates. But thats not really good. (This is fastest way, but also most risky since you need to pressure phase ships so normal enemy ones cam surround you, dont do it fighting phase frigates) 3.Pilot dedicated phase hunter there are some ships for it: -Harbinger (fight phase with phase, quantum disruptor is best system in game) -Long range hil sunder (Stay near your capitals and fire at any phase ship that dares to attack you) -4x proximity charge launcher falcon P (good mobility + firepower perfect for phase ship hunting) Also once again use omens as protection no phase frigate will pose a threat to your bigger ships if there is omen nearby it And fighters use fighters

@@Kuba_K Do the Omen zaps disable phase ships right away because of the lack of shields? Also from your suggestions, it might be that I'm simply too aggressive as a pilot, gunning hard for every bit of damage(to prevent my ships from taking extra). Combine that with what is probably battle fatigue and impatience on me as a player.. Emp fighters is a really promising sounding strategy. Thanks for responding in good faith

@@davidburnett5049 omen emp is good, it wont kill phase ship but will deter it from attacking. And yes dont try to catch phase frigates, just pay attention so they dont attack your exposed side. They will take damage trying to attack you anyway. Unless you see them with high flux then focus fire on them. Emp fighters and long range anti armor stuff will force ship to phase early to avoid dmg, therefore it will have high flux when it gets in its weapon range so it will be easy to kill

This is deferently cheated. Torpedos fired at point-blank range damage you aswell as who they are shot at. At 0:47 the damage was nothing. Either modded or cheated. Or it could be me who wants the build for this because if this is ligit, I'm dreaming of how this mirracle is done!

Define cheated. This was done in vanilla with those mods installed: Console command Graphic lib Magic lib Idk probably one more library Stats were not changed only cheats i did was giving myself 15 skill points at level 1 some story points and afflictor to save time, everything is doable in pure vanilla. Try it out yourself before saying dumb stuff, this explosion isnt even from torpedoes but from two destroyed armor modules, graphic lib makes it look big but its aoe is actually really small. Ship build and stats are all vanilla too, check it out at the end of video
