I had a little bottle of Chopard last autumn and went through it very quickly. It is old style, but I really loved this in colder weather.

I'm really looking forward to trying it in winter!

Try to find an older bottle of Chopard Casmir made by Parfums Chopard and not by Coty. They have a red lotus flower on the under side of the bottle. Those are the yummy ones.

My bottle is by PFCH Luxe Italia.... so I'm not sure where this falls between Chopard and Coty?!

Nice that you did the Vanderbilt ones! I have the original one and it's one of the scents I've worn the most, though I've been giving it some rest lately. I was very curious about the flankers, I keep seeing them on Notino, super inexpensive. I think I'll give Miss Vanderbilt a try: bodylotiony with heliotrope sounds right up my alley :).
@skinscentsforfusspots Жыл бұрын
They're absolute bargains as they're still pretty strong to my nose, even thought they're so cheap!
@gi2121 Жыл бұрын
@@skinscentsforfusspotsI ended up buying the Miss Vanderbilt 🙂. It IS very cosy and sweet. The drydown for me is the best part, warm and comforting, as opposed to the top notes that are quite citrusy (I don't like citrus in fragrances). My problem with it is longevity. Though it does smell quite strong to my nose in the first hour maybe, it then goes to a skin scent. Such a pity.

@@gi2121 I hope it was at least cheap enough to warrant respraying!

@@skinscentsforfusspots it was, but I really dislike having to respray every 2 hours. Oh well.

Loved your Casmir description!! 😂😂 Been very intrigued by this. I'm sure you've heard people say it's comparable to Ylang in Gold 😮 That has a more banana ylang ylang note/creamy yellow floral beachy vibes. Anyhoo, enjoyed this!! 😁🙌😍 xx
@skinscentsforfusspots Жыл бұрын
I will have to try and find Ylang in Gold to test one day and see how Casmir and Far Away compare - As the weather cools down Casmir and Far Away are smelling more alike!

I love hearing your thoughts on Casmir! I bought a decant and fell in love and used the whole thing. I then bought a 30ml bottle and the perfume from my bottle has an unfortunate fecal/halitosis opening and normally I would not stand for it but I'm one who does love the dry down. And the bottle, of course! When it warms on my skin, I do get a caramel apricot pastry smell but I tend to get that from most sweet ambers. One of my very favourite perfumes in my collection is Banana Republic Rosewood. It has a similar vibe to Casmir but more wearable in my opinion. If I could send you one of my backup bottles to try, I would in a heartbeat.... But I'm not sure it's possible from Canada! Okay, now to hear your thoughts on the Gloria Vanderbilt perfumes (which I do not own) :)
@amandahobbes9831 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm I'm still on the fence about any of the Vanderbilts! I just put on Rosewood.... definitely less sweet than Casmir but I do get some sweet vanillic warmth. Maybe ambers pull that way on my skin. The "reminds me of" section on Fragrantica is all over the place so this must be a user specific scent. 😂 Rosewood to me smells like I'm sitting in a cozy cafe with polished wood tables and maybe there is a fire...and I'm sipping a bergamot tea and can smell pastries baking somewhere in the distance. Casmir smells like I have my nose in the pastries...after the halitosis passes 😂

Haha! Thankfully no stinky breath or poo from my bottle of Casmir.... just an odd concoction! I'm looking forward to trying it again in winter! Amber can go really wrong for me, sometimes I find it suffocating and sweet in an uncomfortable way!

I think Casmir is similar to Vanilla Fields in a way which is why I like it. It also reminds me of the old school Cherry Vanilla that was big in the 90s. (My favorite perfume ever made) but Casmir has a smoky dry down that neither of those two have. It’s one you can’t really over spray though because it can become too much.. almost headache inducing. I do enjoy wearing it in the fall and winter though. I want to try Sunflower. I’ve never tried the original but have seen it out in local bargain stores. Love your reviews!

I can't get along with vanilla fields - PTSD from so many girls at my school wearing it back in the 90s! I don't do well with floral vanilla's but I think Casmir has enough fruit to balance it out and make it more to my taste.... I suspect it's the patchouli I'm bumping up against the most but I'm excited to try it out in cold weather! P's, have you tried Lush Vanillary perfume? Sounds like it might be up your street! Sunflowers smells like my youth, it's so evocative!
@jessicaelliston3065 Жыл бұрын
@@skinscentsforfusspots I have not tried it! I’ll have to add it to my list of perfumes to try! I’ve worn Vanilla Fields since I was a young teenager & to many people it can be dated and overpowering. I’ve always loved the softness of it on my skin. The old formulation of Vanilla Fields is much stronger than the newer formulation and I don’t smell it long on me after I apply it so I usually only bring it out on the cooler months because I find it performs better for me in the colder months. I’ll definitely look into the Lush Vanillary. It sounds like one I’d enjoy! I love your reviews!

I remember almost buying casmir when I first started KZbin... really not sure whether I'd like that or not 😂 I'm scared of the peach
@skinscentsforfusspots Жыл бұрын
I think it's more apricotty and jammy. I struggle with peach too but It's more the powdery base and the old fashioned patchouli that threw me a bit - it's actually very similar to Avon Far Away!

The chopard kashmir I do have. In the beginning I got just shaved wood, it was cedar and very sweet. I disliked it. However I left it until it was colder. Got it out one day. I don't get coconut or mango. But the peach BLOOMED, to my surprise and the woodshed scent diminished. It's still there but not fusty like it was in the beginning. But as I get older my skin brings out the gourmand and it did with this one so much. Happy to say I wear it on cold evenings and I've nearly finished the bottle. I've enjoyed wearing it but I don't think I'll repurchase. Also dropped the bottle onto wooden floor 3 times. The bottle is intact.

Yes I've been storing it for the cold. It is quite similar to Avon Far Away (which also smells like melting rubber to me in warm weather!) so I'm excited to try it out on a cold day!

I like to wear perfume on my skin generally speaking (personal preference!) and tbh, I’ve got such a massive collection that if it doesn’t agree with me there’s just no point in keeping it…. I know I’d never reach for it!
