Thank you for reviewing and showing a capable bushcraft knife which is very affordable . Also good you told us about the heavy duty and normal version. I was ordering when I realized I have the wrong version in my basket. ☮️

My companion carbon is a fix it fast kinda tool! Almost lost it green/black. Feeling in bushy shadows can be dangerous. Maybe my new tan will be a stealthy, but more visible! You explain clearly, without ego dominating the presentations! Thank you bro!

Hi. For quality vs price. Mora just can't be beat. I agree. I like the companion hd and the 2000 the best. Good health and stay safe.

I did not use the 2000 yet but yeah, can't really go wrong with a Mora haha

I have the stainless versions for sea fishing and food prep. A slice of bicycle inner tube around the top of the handle and belt loop fixes the problem of sheath rétention. Good health and stay safe.

That indeed is also a great way to fix the knife. Thanks for sharing!

Mora knives are the best! We got some 1950's Mora Classics about 10 years ago from the Swedish army surplus. They are still doing the job as you can see from our channel.

I've ordinary companion, apart from having to file back spine to work with firerod, its a pretty good carry on, just don't expect to take down huge trees and then create logs with it.

I keep a Mora as my back up knife. They are great for the price, are easy to sharpen, comfortable, and light weight. I have even done a video where I grew a large thick beard and shaved it off with the knife. I was very amazed at how easily and quickly I was able to remove it. The video can be found on my channel.

Gude mein Lieber.

First thing you do, when to baton is to cut a wedge capable of freeing your knife. So you wont have to leave your knife behind.
@gambet00074 жыл бұрын
Its funny how this basic things is practically ignored across these knife video making channels. Tells me not many of them actually do go to woods haha
@RathwulvenBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
Well not really, because using a wedge for splitting wood is a different technique than batoning as such. Doesn't mean that a wedge has no purpose - of course one should use a wedge if possible but that ain't the point here ;-)
@RathwulvenBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
See the comment above, Roy - there is nothing ignored, we just talk about two completely different things.

@RathwulvenBushcraft5 жыл бұрын

@@RathwulvenBushcraft Mora is fairly sturdy, so light batonning is not a problem. Small rule of thumb about max 50% of the blade thick wood. For heavy batonning there is a chance of breaking. Most models of mora are about 1/2 of the handle stick tang. The more heavy duty are 3/4 of the handle. Except the Garberg is fulltang. Never baton on the handle, thats a weak point.

In the UK along with most types of knife any fixed blade knife became illegal to carry back in 1988 the only type of knife you can carry In the UK are folding pocket knives 3 in or less but those can become illegal if carried in the wrong place or if a police officer asks you why your carrying it and you give the wrong answer
