One of the best things about AirAsia X is how (generally) their business class product is. No, it’s definitely not the best premium cabin you’ll find in Asia, but it’s darn good for the money and well worth it if you find a great deal.
This is footage from flight number 372, A330-300 service from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Taipei (Taipei). I was seated in 2K, and the aircraft registration was 9M-XXD.

based on how it looked, the glutinous rice dish you had is more akin to a popular Chinese dish called Zongzi (aka "Chinese Tamales" - sticky seasoned rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves) i'm guessing it was flavoured similarly and then just presented in the aluminum tin to make it easier to eat! they're good but definitely not at all like normal "fluffy white rice" which is a bit drier and bland

Hey Scott, I'm 63 this year but over the last 40 years I've traveled over a million miles. I used to work for a major hospitality company. I was based out of Fort Lauderdale/Miami. Was based in San Diego as well so I knew I'll mad San Diego Airport was along with the old LAX. I had plenty of clients in the Orient, and pretty sure I shared a jet with you going back to San Fran seven or eight years ago. I don't know how I found your Channel, but I enjoy your sense of humor and since I'm in a wheelchair now, I enjoy your travels vicariously. As always enjoyable, quirky video Scott, A330 looking tired and out of date with 2-2 in business class, although for the price, what you get, it's not that bad, I think aviation will return as normal, but will have do social distancing and people will clean like crazy. All is forgiven Scott...at least we can enjoy your travels and you are still posting great content...don't worry about in which order !!!! They love UFC in Asian countries ( not for me !!) Kick boxing is a huge sport (especially of course in Thailand) but also in many places including Malaysia....FYI Glutinous rice is a type of rice grown mainly in Southeast and East Asia, Northeastern India and Bhutan which has opaque grains, and is especially sticky when cooked. It is widely consumed across Asia. It is called glutinous in the sense of being glue-like or sticky, and not in the sense of containing gluten (which it does not). Scott also called "sticky rice" in some places !! Sad to watch the last airborne video from you Scott. I shall of course keep an eye out for any video you post (yes I have hit the bell !! ) Take care mate and another great flight...except for the rice !!!

Glutinous rice is a staple on the Chinese menu... sometimes called sticky rice. It’s usually wrapped and cooked in lotus leaf. It’s a favourite on dim sum menus.

I flew out of KLIA 2 a couple years ago and Air Asia had a lounge which was ok. Did you have access to it? I'd like to try Air Asia X business class. The fares are really quite good for the product you get. Food, stick to the chicken rice or nasi lemak.

Scott I loved your Air Asia X video. I thought for the money I paid, it was totally worth it. Too bad you didn’t try out the wacky Air Asia lounge at KUL. Probably the absolute weirdest lounge I’ve ever been in. I also thought the gates were weird as after you’ve passed security your food and shopping options are limited. However, the food was delicious I apologize for your disappointing meal hahaha and seats are great for the price! Another great video, Scott!

Forgot to mention that AirAsia is a low cost carrier and one of the best out there... think Jetstar or Ryanair. The business class fares on AirAsia are usually the same price as an economy fare on full service airlines. Also, Glutenous rice (or sticky rice) is a Chinese dish and quite the delicacy. Usually wrapped in lotus leaf and it’s a staple in the dim sum menu... it’s not badly cooked rice. AirAsia actually has pretty decent food and you’d be hard pressed to find good food like that on other budget carriers. Would recommend the nasi lemak or the chicken rice next time though. I also think you are able to purchase extra food and drink outside of the included business class meal. Didn’t know the provided iPads and pretty awesome Sony noise cancelling headphones (I use those when I travel) now! Last time I sat in that seat from Seoul to KL, there was no entertainment.

Do you actually stay a couple of days at the places you land at? While good videos, it feels like you land for example, Singapore, then that same day you are on a return flight taking a different airline. Does customs question you why you are at cities for such a short amount of time?

If it was quite cheap, the comfy seat and legroom was worth it. If I had known about the glutenous meal I would have packed a good sub sandwich. Certainly safer than being in the packed economy cabin.

I didn’t mention it because it’s all relative. I personally found it to be affordable for a lie-flat seat on a 4.5hr flight, but I’ve been doing KZbin long enough to know that I’d get a ton of comments saying that anything over $50 is absolute robbery. 🤦🏼‍♂️😅
