Fantastic video and welcome back. I have friends who live in KL and visit them often and usually fly with MAS and the return Business Class from Melbourne is around $3000 to $3400 return which I think is great great value. KL is NOT Singapore and or Hong Kong but its a lot cheaper and the food is unreal. Air Asia have a growing market here as you know and the product looked very good for the price. How did you handle the signage at KL airport . My friends and I have a running joke about how poor the signage is in Malaysia full stop. At least they have an excellent train from the Airport to KL Sentral....about $18 Australian and a 30 minute ride! Well done mate...enjoy Singers and looking forward to the SQ flight to Newark, New Jersey (or New York) !! BTW I have a feeling during your plane spotting moment you had vision of one of the 747's which are parked at KLIA and nobody can tell the airport who actually owns them. Its been an aviation mystery for some years. In fact there were 3 of them. www.theguardian.com/world/2015/dec/09/malaysia-seeks-owners-three-boeing-747s-abandoned-airport-kuala-lumpur Great stuff again Stef!

I fully agree Stef that the getting there via a few airports just adds to the holiday. By the way, for others on the channel, I found the other day that Liveatc is broadcasting the Sun N Fun airshow. For all of us that can't make it, we can listen in. Have a great trip and I look forward to some of your fantastic videos.

Thanks Graeme, that's a great tip about Liveatc. I also have a friend working AirshowTV, they're broadcasting the event but I'm not sure about channel / availability. I'll find out more and post some info though.

That was so funny about the blackout during the daytime trip. I imagine they've worked out it is what passengers want if they've paid for the flatbed. It also might encourage any kids in the area to be quiet or at least get parents to be more active in keeping it quiet. The hot food on Air Asia is the best airline food that we have had (in comparison to other hot food on other airlines). They know what heats well and the flavours.

And alot better than what Scoot offers as well
@darrenrobinson82725 жыл бұрын
Andrew Leong I would agree with that. Personally, the only thing Scoot is better than Air Asia X is the seats are more comfy. Oh and the Boeing 787 is great aircraft in my opinion. However, in terms of service offerings I would say Air Asia X is better. And Scoot doesn’t accept Debit Card which is a bit of a downside for me because I don’t normally carry that much cash in my wallet, whereas Air Asia X accepts all card payments and cash.

Airasia X is a good airline for the price they put out. It's a bit cramped in economy but I may end up sightseeing than sleeping on an 8 hour flight.
@jcr1506584 жыл бұрын
Just viewed this report. Yeah it's more than a year old. One error everyone seems to make regarding Newark, it's in New Jersey, not New York. Sure it's right next door, distance wise it's similar to Tullamarine & Avalon, but two separate states.

The safety record of Air Asia is a bit dubious. But they are moving up in the ranks.
@StefanDrury5 жыл бұрын
I think they’ll grow in popularity out of Australia. Be interesting to see if they open up more routes out of Avalon, I can see them being a competitor to the main players in a few years.

I disagree, AirAsiaX has a 7/7 safety rating on airlineratings.com. However, subsidiary airlines indeed have more dubious ratings: AirAsia Thailand 2/7 and AirAsia India 3/7.

Flew air Asia out of Adelaide to Hong Kong a few years back. No issues at all. For a budget airline they were great. Just a shame they stopped all Adelaide flights rather than reducing the daily to maybe two or three a week. Would happily use them again for flights to Asia. However hard to beat business class on Qatar Airways for trips to Europe. Love the videos keep em coming.

The AirAsia X flatbed product is great for the price. Food on AirAsia is generally really good and it's not expensive at all, even on domestic flights. Have flown the flatbed from Seoul to Kuala Lumpur years ago and it was well worth it. It was the same price as economy on Malaysia Airlines (and the KL to Seoul flight on MAS was shite).

Frederick Spector AirAsia is a low cost airline....you cannot compare it to legacy airlines like Emirates, Qantas, Singapore Airlines....Airasia charge $800-1000 for their business class whereas Qantas usually charge 2000-3000 one way....you should compare AA with Jetstar to be fair

Equivalent to other low cost carriers. You're offered an iPad with movies and TV shows for the flight, there's no seat back system. You have to sign out the iPad and sign it back in again (they've possibly had a few go missing), but that would be cheaper for them than supporting a fixed IFE instead I presume. Thanks.
