Two things regarding USB ports. Either a) they are manually controlled by cockpit/flight attendant (less likely) or b) you have to select the type of USB tethering you want on your phone. Sometimes at low current it might automatically tether as "file transfer" and not "charging".

Amsterdam is one of the best airports to connect in in Europe. I've used it a lot and the shortest connection i've had is 15 minutes running from E concourse where my flight from the USA arrived to D6 where the UK cityhopper flights depart from. I flew them from Bristol to Amsterdam last March, after having flown from Eindhoven to London Stansted two weeks prior with Ryanair of all things. I can't say I cared too much for the difference, but KLM was 4.5 times the price. The cup of coffee and sandwich really don't make up for that. I never seem to luck out with having my connecting flight at the next gate. The last time I had a tight connection I was flying from Cedar Rapids to Minneapolis to Portland. The first segment was on a CRJ200 and we were 45 minutes late leaving CID due to thunderstorms over MSP. Then once we got close to MSP the storms started coming back and we circled. Of course my flight arrived at gate 1 and my connecting flight to PDX was at G38 or something like that of course two gates the farthest away from each other you can get at MSP. I ran to the people mover jump on that as the doors were closing, got off and ran all the way to gate just as they were finishing boarding that fortunately was delayed due to the storms.

I tried doing the reacting. Didn't work out too well, took a break from watching, and now we start summaries again. SUUUUUURRRRFFFSSHHHARRRRKKKK We start in front of the Warsaw airport with some swanky music. As we walk through the airport, we get a sense of the architecture. It looks just like any modern western airport, just... Smaller. At least it looks like a better place to be than JFK. We get free WiFi and OH HO HO we see the sponsorship. It's really well ingrained into the video, but I found it to be a tad long. However, that might be something that they clarified when giving the sponsorship, so I'm not really one to speak. We board the aircraft, and soon Scott realizes the penalty of his actions, as any delay would mean disaster in his itinerary. We see a sea of blue, which would make sense, because the sea is blue, and EVERYTHING in the plane melds together. It does fit their livery, though, since the interior of the fuselage is white and the seats are blue. And... Bye bye red shoes. This is my second (?) video of yours I've seen without them on. The flight is delayed, and 30 minutes later, the aircraft pushes back. Why you would make a 45 minute connection, I may never know. The minutes seem to be ticking by slower and slower... If you can't relate to this, just imagine your last doctor's appointment, when you keep anxiously looking down to see how long before you're checked. It's that feeling. Once we reached cruise, a meal was served. It appears to be a ham and cheese sandwich with some kind of special mayo. If anyone is wondering what the box says, it says "From a special place on earth: Beemster cheese is made in the most famous polder in the Netherlands, 'The Beemster.' This polder was reclaimed from the sea in 1612. Over 400 years later rich grass grows at Beemster, which nourishes our cows and produces the best milk in the Netherlands. This milk is used to make Beemster cheeses. In 1999 UNESCO declared this marvelous polder a world heritage site." You're welcome. Soon we begin our descent, at which point we hear that the woman next to him requires a wheelchair, which means extra delay. We also get some serious shots of the water cup. We land in Amsterdam and soon, we begin the sprint. Which was not a sprint, because the plane was the next gate over. We board the plane and are seated in an exit row. Again, the aircraft is coated in blue and black and white, which looks very KLM-y to me. The seats don't look that comfortable, but with what they are used for, they will suffice. And the seatbelts weren't supposed to match the livery, they were supposed to match your pants! heh. The seats look EXTREMELY thin. EXTREMELY. But again, since no flights within Europe are any longer than an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, they will do. He goes into depth on what he would do in the event of an emergency evacuation. I can't say I haven't done the same, but only because I'd seem like the hero in the story. Imagine the headlines: "Young Aviation Enthusiast Saves Plane With Flight Attendants Since Nobody Else Watched the Safety Videos". Can't say that wouldn't be great, but if I fail at doing so, then the entire plane (including myself) is beyond screwed. Unfortunately, the USB ports didn't work on this flight, which is a bummer, but it's not the end of the world. And that video of you and the other bald guy behind you... Now that's what I call synchronized eating! Soon we land and we park at the gate, and of course, the sponsors. I'd say this video is pretty good. I can't see any downsides, and I would say to give more statistics, or at least describe what it was like to sit in that seat, but nothing's really changed from video to video (from what I've seen, again, I took a break from tripreports for a bit) so I'm going to drop it. Music has definitely improved. AND THAT'S A WRAP!
@sanspotter5 жыл бұрын

It looks drab and the seat had no support. It's really uncomfortable to fly on a jet-lag-inducing transatlantic flight. Even though KLM/AMS are more reliable to connect through, I've found the AF cabins to be more comfortable. I'm a tall person. I've found it odd that the dutch have such poor seat for tall folks.

Haha, I’m sure there will come a time in an upcoming video where the transition from one plane to another will be just a blurry mess of nauseatingly shaky footage. 🤪😄 Thanks for the support!

You weren't invited because you don't like mayo... I mean gunk... That's right. I said it.

Haha! Makes sense considering I’m pretty much the only person I know who hates mayo. 🤢😝

@@sanspotter yer not the only one. The problem is people put on 200x the amount needed. But that is nearly true of most condiments. I usually need a butter knife to scrape the goo off and a hot cup of tea to melt anything I missed. So I don't blame you.

To date I am disappointed with Surfshark. When I pre registered for the free trial it did not recognize the promotion code "SCOTT" although the $3.00 +/mo , which is reasonable may include the promotion code. Also, I can not find a valid customer service email address or a chat tab. Can you please provide a current email address. I need it prior to my free trial expiration date of 4 Sep. Thanks in advance

Your videos are getting better and better. Much prefer to the likes of Sam Chui, where the videos are too sanitized and can't be trusted for objectivity.
@sanspotter5 жыл бұрын
Thanks John! I feel like I’m getting into a zone with my style. Still could be a lot better though!

Scott, since you are extolling Surfshark, I have a question for your viewers. If anyone has availed themselves of the free trial period, what has been your experience when you wanted to cancel during the free trial period.
@sanspotter5 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I’m not really sure. Hopefully someone who has done that will read this comment and chime in. However, I will say that they are usually very responsive, so reaching out to them (via email or social channels) to resolve any issues shouldn’t be an issue.
@firstlast10475 жыл бұрын
@@sanspotter Scott, thanks for the response. My cancellation issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. It was difficult finding a correct email address. Yes, Surfshark is a very good product. It has the same features as my current VPN provider. I am committed to a two year contract. Unfortunately I was looking for a very specific feature my VPN can not provide and neither can Surfshark or other VPN providers. Thoroughly enjoy your flight commentaries and videos. Definitely continue to recommend Surfshark

Claus, to me, that was real food! 😂 All we would have got in the US on a flight of that length is a cup of water. Anyway, yes, the MAD-LHR segment didn’t go quite as planned. I can laugh about it now but it wasn’t funny at the time! 😄😄

@@sanspotter scott I know what you mean. A little bit of misunderstanding. If you fly in the U:S a snack consists out of pretzels. In europe a snack is f.ex. a sandwich . So it is much more substantial.. Know what I mean?????
