Microshift is on real name brand bikes right now. So they are my pick. They also have an english language online presence and KZbin channel.

I’m a big fan of Microshift. I run Advent X on 2 bikes, Advent 9x1 on one bike, and Microshift 2x9 thumbies on my Rivendell (shifting Shimano Ultegra) I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on Sword.

I have Sensah 11-speed. Switched to 11-46 cassette and works great.

I use sensah srx 12spd, running 9-50. It runs great. I do wish the brake lever was fixed, but you can't shift while you brake, once you squeeze the brake the shifting gets locked out. From my experience the sensah shifts better than advent x when i had it.

Great video. It's great that manufacturers are releasing affordable options and lower gear ratios for gravel and road bikes. Competion is good because it drives prices lower. Like you said, you're taking a risk when getting those affordable no-name brands because, more than likely, you won't get any support from your LBS, and you have to figure it out yourself. I'm actually getting the Sensah GR9 1 x 11 a try and a Zitto cable actuated hydraulic brakes. To me, cable actuated brakes is a good option due to easier maintenance and cost to change the length of brake lines compared to actual hydraulic brakes.

Am a big fan of mshift sword. I haven’t tried advent but have been really happy with XLE (shimano mtb pull). Seems like cross compatibility is long gone sadly so gotta embrace my new “ecosystem” overlords….

I have a Marin Gestalt X10 (2022) that came with Microshift Advent X, but with a (Sunrace) 11-51 cassette as standard. Shifts very well, although the cassette does have a couple of large mid-range jumps in it. Shifters are the weakest part. Partially due to the sideways cable exit (although that's aesthetic as much as practical) but mostly due to the bump at the back at the hoods that can uncomfortable if you don't position your hands just right. Sword shifters do look like a very nice upgrade in that respect!

Thanks for covering products I can *_actually_* afford. I'm a longtime _SRAM_ road rider but, now interested in the _Microshift Sword_ 1x group. I'd consider hydro-mechanical brakes, like the _JuinTech GT-F_ w/ dual piston calipers.

I want to like the sram apex groupset but the double tap feature doesn't do it for me. I'm excited for the microshift sword groupset and will definitely consider either it or GRX for my next gravel build having already owned the grx 400 2x10 which served me well.

Another longtime sram user, love doubletap shifting on cx bikes with cantis. Was given this past winter a 2017 cx demo bike with rival 1x11 mech disc. Not fully sure on it due lack of riding from Socal winter storms, summer heat waves, and cheap stock wheels breaking down to give a full view of 1x systems. Mech disc blow cantis away. Was not liking with the heavy cheap stock wheels but upgrading the wheels now so should have full window into the abilities of frame and rival 1x11. To upgrade staying with 1x would go for apex axs due to the reasons mentioned, ease of setup and use, not as costly to replace parts, and buy. Or stay with mechanical version for the doubletap and no battery needed.

Hey Mike, do you know if the Sensah SRX 1x12 would work with an XD 50t cassette, sram chain and chainring?
@LockedinCycling
@LockedinCycling 3 ай бұрын
@@James.Gornell the cassette doesn’t matter , I believe that derailuer clears a 50t cassette but I’d check the specs on the groupset you ordered

While LTwoo is currently getting all the spotlight, Sensah is the real dark horse mechanical groupset. Sensah now have the 11/12 speed Empire HRD and SRX HRD 2x road and 1x gravel hydraulic groupsets available. Also they just released 11 speed Team Pro hydraulic levers which are Shimano compatible. You can pair that with 105/Ultegra/GRX derailleur setups with hydraulic calipers. Rumor has it that they'll also have 12 speed Shimano compatible levers as well. Microshift is a no-go for me with cable pull brakes only especially for gravel.

Yea I did a review on the 11 speed sensah stuff it wasn’t perfect but I voiced the pros and cons, having the shimano compatibilities is nice when doing a custom build to save some cost going hydro

Shimano Cues looks promising. My guess is that it will be on almost every entry level sports bike next year. Shimano Cues has some 2x cranks with 36x22 chainrings, that looks ideal for loaded bikepacking.

The sloppiest components I've ever used are from Microshift, even the 12s indexed thumbies are sloppy in index mode. People's quality standards are below sea level, lol.
