Hi Scott, So I've got both their ptu-7000 500mhz and ptm-33 900mhz. Both racked in a gator case with a soundcraft ui-24. I placed an antenna plate in the front of the rack and mount each antenna there for the 7000. No issues at all with the mics. I installed an antenna plate in the rear of the rack and that's where I located the (2) antennas for the ptu-33. I have a 2.5/5mhz router for the ui24 which sits on top of the case and I use a line 6 g70 wireless with two packs which is mounted on my pedal board. 1) why does the ptm-33 only have two antennas when it's a 4 unit mono iem system? 2) I cannot get a response from pheynx pro on the type of antenna (which direction to they out to ...180 degrees etc and are they A/B for all for packs or A=2packs and B=2 packs. I'm getting interference, drop outs etc. So I tried getting 5ft coles and extended the antennas from the back k of the unit further away from the rack. Still same issues with occasional drop outs ot severe drop outs depending the venue and wall types. Now, how will this unit possibly solve that. I also crowd surf so I kind of need it to cover the stage and room which likely means I'd need it to be at the back of the room facing the stage. The downside to the ptm-33...no channel scan feature like the 7000 series for the mics. So no idea what channel or group to use. So you know of a tool I could use to see all those wireless transmits s well as other whet might be in the vicinity? Very challenging issue, no support from pheynx pro and the ptm33 is like 450.00. Inexpensive for what you get but useless if it doesn't work. I have a ptm-10 which is flawless. Thoughts on how best to make things work?

Thanks for the info. I bought a Phenix pro IEM set a while ago and had some issues with drop outs so I sent it back. After I did, I seen a add for a antenna combiner and thought that may have helped with the issue because the stage was so large and the wireless mixer and mic were also in the rack. If I could win this antenna I would uninstall honey and buy the Phenix IEMs to give it another shot.

It all depends on how you were getting dropouts. Likely it’s because the frequency you were on was taken or being used by something else

If the right IEM unit came along (WE NEED BUDGET DIGITAL!!!) this is something I would certainly look at doing. I completely missed all talk about the suggestion to Uninstall Honey, and I did use it a while back but largely forgot about it and will now be doing some real research thanks to your suggestion! Active antenna combiner for evolution wireless G4 systems. The AC 41 operates up to four wireless stereo transmitters from the ew series using one shared antenna. Power is supplied to the SR IEM G4 transmitters over the BNC cables via NT 3-1 power supply (included with the AC 41), making separate power supplies for the transmitters obsolete.

Just upgraded to a Sennheiser G4 IEM and was blown away how much better it sounds than the LD Systems unit I’ve been using the last 3 years. Still debating wether to build a small rack for my own stuff or to put it inside the big band rack, which would probably require a combiner.
@ScottUhlMusicАй бұрын
Nice! If you have the G4 you can use this trick: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zoi3apl-prutkMksi=RSsvCJN2w2sCWI2j And then have the one in the rack and then have one as a portable one 👍
@josuastangl7140Ай бұрын
@@ScottUhlMusic Thank you, that's a great trick! I've seen that video a while ago. Although I'd be in the "not applicable" category, as I want stereo and don't need it to be portable. I'll probably put it in the band's rack and see if it'll work alongside 2 other LD Systems IEM wireless units and a G3 wireless mic or if we'll need a combiner. The other option would be to assemble my personal little rack with the G4 IEM, maybe a future EW-D guitar wireless and a power conditioner. Our bassist went that route.
