I can attest that the jump starter is probably one of the most important tools you can bring. I went solo car camping for the first time in Joshua Tree over this last Christmas, and wasn't thinking about my car's battery life. Left the doors open too long on the first morning and my car died. Thankfully, my neighbor in the campsite had one of those jump starters, and was able to help me out. I went into town that same day and bought one of my own. Thank goodness I wasn't wild camping with no one else in sight, or it would have been really bad. Thanks for sharing this list. It will definitly be helpful as I test out my own camping gear and figure out what I do and don't need.
@JC.Journey9 ай бұрын
We've had a couple scares ourselves, in places with no cell service and no one around to help. A device like this is a definite must have. Leaving doors open too long is easy to do and cold weather can affect weak batteries too. Thanks so much for watching, we are so glad you found it helpful. Happy Camping! 🌲

Those crush lamps are great. I also use those Thermo-bug killing whatever lanterns. Love the collapsible sinks. I’m actually finishing the pullouts for my box in the back. I’ve tried to camp out of my suburban, but I just can’t get comfortable in there. I use a queen sized cot bed with a 6” memory foam mattress and a 10 x 10 pop up. I use a bucket with bags and a toilet seat. I’ve been a backpacker since I was 15, and have accumulated multiple mess kits over the years. I have the same stove you use (propane or butane), as well as one of my smaller backpacking stoves. I also keep a nylon tarp for an awning (can’t pull the trigger on one of those fancy expandable ones…yet). I’m working on a DC shower system that will give me a real good, hot shower. And I have one of those collapsible shower tents. I’m gonna make a roll up wooden floor out of some oak I’ve got lying around. I have a 27’ travel trailer, but sometimes it’s just better to go light. Thank for the video. 😁👍

It sounds like you have an awesome camp setup! Already owning backpacking gear, is ideal. We've been thinking about something like a Thermacell for mosquitos. Which one do you use? Sleeping in the vehicle has been process of trial and error over the year and a work of art to be sure we are comfortable and cozy. We've found making sure the vehicle is level, front to back & side to side helps a lot for the bed setup to be more comfortable and being sure we have plenty of room to stretch our legs too. We are still working on our shower setup, it's quite primitive but works for us (we love the roll up wooden floors). Our kids have the Joolca shower setup - I'll try to get some video of it next time we are out camping together. We've been helping them work on an impressive, overland 4Runner setup! Thanks so much for watching - Happy Camping!

Thanks so much! 😊 We use two, very small, usb rechargeable fans that also work with a power source like a battery bank. They are not big enough to actually cool a space but do create nice air movement across the face. This is the one we use: ► Portable Fan:amzn.to/3Nu10eA (to use it all night, a portable battery bank would be necessary - I think it runs 2-6 hours on it's internal battery depending on which speed setting is used). I'll leave a couple links in the description for ideas - but try searching for something like 'usb rechargeable' or 'usb powered desk fan'; something like this: ► amzn.to/3VNV7NX (full disclosure, we have not used this one, it's just an idea to use as a reference point). Hope this is helpful. 😊

I don't see the point of collapsible bowls and containers. We have a €1 plastic bowl and use it to carry cleaning materials, so it is a storage container. We have a set of tupperware containers which fit inside each other, €4 for 5 containers taking the space of one. I do like the bug screen though. Microfibre towels are no good, they don't dry you, that's why the dry so quickly. Pot noodle is not a meal. Instead of a shovel, I use a flat ended machete, does everything a spade does, plus it cuts stuff and offers protection. Why do you need so many lights? You spend all that money and talk of saving money on one item.
