This is a great chair. I picked one up on aliexpress for $15.69 including shipping. Super light. 12 oz including the bag! I attached the bag to my pack on my last overnight backpacking trip and never once needed my butt pad. Whipped it out at every stop. Thanks for the tip.

How cool is that? The weight savings is fantastic as well as the size, I have a REI Flexlite on sale for around the same cost but usually it is double. I love my flexlight but it is bigger and heavier than that stool. It runs like 1 pound 10 oz and is like 15 inches long. True, It has a back and that makes it Very comfortable but the weight and size difference is significant. Ideally I would have both ! If anything happens to mine, I think I will try this one.

You know, sometimes it would be nice to have a back. That would make it more comfortable for longer sits. The small footprint of this one makes it pretty easy to set close enough to a tree (or etc), but now and then If I'm spending a lot of time in one place, I do sort of wish for a back.

Oh...by the way...Upon further investigation, I have now found the inevitable "knock offs", and alternatives to the Helinox chairs. One in particular, (Trekology), claims to support up to three (300) hundred pounds, and has almost a five star rating. They also have a high backed model. www.amazon.com/Trekology-Compact-Portable-Camping-Adjustable/dp/B01CNCBV8W/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8 www.amazon.com/Trekology-Compact-Portable-Camping-Chair/dp/B01DD33UNO/ref=pd_sbs_468_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=DRYHMW47PJ3EZ0XXP8N8 I noticed that Helinox provides a Five (5) year warranty on its chairs. I wonder what the warranty, if any is on the knock offs? I may purchase a knock off, as they are literally 66% less than the Helinox chair.

Yes, lots of options out there, and what do you think that I just found? I went to the Tribe website, and I found that they manufacture their own "Adventure Chair" too! www.tribeprovisions.com/products/adventure-chair It looks like they did not use the crimped tubular aluminum, as they did in the stool. Check it out. Thanks!

Msilverhammer Tribe makes good stuff. One of these days, I'll probably do a video on their blanket and maybe compare it to the double black diamond blanket.

Don't think they're still making those. Can't find them in stock anywhere

there's a sales/marketing person from them who emailed me a few times after this video. I've reached out to that email address and I'll let you know if I hear back from them.

All of their products are listed as "Out of Stock", so it looks like the company has closed its doors completely, and isn't restocking.

Great Review and Info what other Essential gear do you have .
@betweenfiveandseven8 жыл бұрын
I have a few items in my kit that are a little outside the usual and that I really wouldn't want to go without. I've decided to occasionally feature those things with short videos like this one that I will identify as just "essential gear". I think it will be a nice contrast to my regular videos that go anywhere from 25-45 minutes. So, stay tuned! And, thanks for watching!

Not sure what the best way to sit is. One post always seems to go where it's not supposed to. It seems the right height for my purpose.
@betweenfiveandseven8 жыл бұрын
Yes... I know exactly what you're saying. I tend to sit down on it and then scoot it just a little bit clockwise or counter clockwise to get whichever point of the triangle is in the wrong place to a better spot.

What's it for?
@betweenfiveandseven8 жыл бұрын
It's just a chair. I know I didn't sit on it in this video, but you'll see it again in the next video (I'm editing right now) and it has been in a few of my previous videos. It's just a little light weight stool that packs down small enough and is light enough to put in a pack.
@kevinlim75777 жыл бұрын
c'mon, you talk everything about that stool except not doing the most important thing about the product, sitting on it demostration. LOL.
@betweenfiveandseven7 жыл бұрын
Until this very moment, I never realized that. I never once considered that I should demonstrate its function in the video that's actually about this stool. If you go to twenty eight minutes forty seconds on my Oct 2015 video "Aqua Quest Defender Camo Tarp and the Prairie Storm Pitch", you can see me pretty much fall off of this stool and almost kick over my stove/boiling water. It might be cautionary to see me do that :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmXIYZemZt5ogMk
