the concept of buying regions would be a great idea for the world map. Fly the entire world in ok detail and then buy a region to feature highly detailed landscapes and points of interest. But for a single map… lets just see how this plays out 😁

being able to play on the full map despite not having it in multiplayer is great! I do understand having to buy maps but I kind of wish it was like IL2 where you dont need to buy maps to play on MP servers, though again, I understand the need given the different development/business models in each game.

that regional split might be worth it, because in multiplayer you get the whole map.

You get the whole map with the split region licenses regardless of SP or MP, you dont magically get the entire map free in MP, it's the same sub license tech used for Normandy 2.0, 1944 Licenses get the old region in HQ, Normandy 2.0 customers get the extended areas in HQ Enabled. The regional sub licenses just enable HQ Scenery for those regions. if you only buy west region, then once you fly into north or east/south, you will see lower res textures and objects.

For the Pimax FAQ, I would like to add. running a 4K 240Hz monitor with pimax on a 4090 will result a Error Code: 10938 - GPU Output Reaches Maximum Capacity (Bandwidth Limitations). Even Pimax support failed to advise me till I found this matching error message. I had to power off my 240Hz monitor and switch back to a 4K 60Hz monitor in order for pimax to work properly. 1 more point on the Auto Power off timer on the HMD. failing to switch to Auto off will result the battery contiunious drain regardless if pimax is running or not and will cause hmd to be flat of power.

I think it's a good thing they decided to split it, and it'll hopefully get more people into trying other DCS maps. As Wags said in an interview, ED is even losing on it and many more people than they expected decided to get a portion of the map instead of the whole thing.

I was not expecting the Afghan map to be release soon. Looks like ED did some pretty fast work on this one considering when it was first announced. I have saved up for the Kola map hoping that would get out sooner. I was not really keen on any other map beside the Kola but this look interesting.

Honestly, the regional purchase model sounds like a better idea than I initially thought, especially in case of rather limited disk space or specific tastes when it comes to realistic mission design and unit selection... Still going to buy the entire pack, but having options is a good thing!

You know what my most wanted feature right now is? A remaster of the Caucasus map. Everyone sees that first. It's the most played map. And it's not looking as good as some other sims. I wish they'd updated that map with a choice to keep the original - for long standing players with performance concerns.

I'm most interested in the north and kabul... now they offer me very good options to only get those parts and i don't know if i just should get the whole thing 😅 ED knows how to sell us stuff. Great video, I think the way ED is splitting the map up has the potential to be a good idea if it is handled correctly. I believe it would help some people get into the map without the large upfront cost and size requirements. Lastly I know some people don't like how ED is doing business but given that this is a small market I think they are doing a good job.

You Rock another awesome video sir. Pimax should let you keep the headset IMO kind of sucks of them to not after others got one for free for doing the same. I am no fan of the Desert Sand Pounder maps and now OH BOY even more Sand Pounder maps to live through because DCS wants to cash in on the 20 year War that took so many lives. Now all of a Sudden it is Okay to promote this war and its 2 side agenda to cash in. Noice! DCS Where is that Marianas WWII map we were promised How many Years ago? My question is, how will this work if they ever get the world map out. If you get the world map, you won't need these region maps. You may need region maps for the world map, but for modern day combat, the world map should cover all lands.
