3:12 The 2023 season was Luke Beveridges contract year but before the season started they gave him a 2 year extension until 2025. They extended his contract before the season, before the Dogs underperformed and missed the 8. So he's not in a contract year in 2024 but he's still under pressure to perform as contracts can be ripped up these days

With Melbourne they copped injuries and suspensions to their forward line at finals time. That's their biggest weakness and it even got weaker still. Despite that they were still competitive in the finals. Top 4? hard to say as its hard to keep backing up. But they are contenders for a flag for sure.

I see Allen as a roaming forward more. But I would say that he lands heavily on his side quite often. So hopefully doesn't do an injury. I admire his professionalism with how his kicking has improved.

Everyone underrates bombers just because their past. They have only improved their list throughout the last 3 years from draft and trades.Our list is full of young talent between the age of 18 and 24 and a few older leaders like 2MP and Zach Merret. I can see us finishing anywhere between 5th and 12th

I'm am Essendon supporter & still not convinced. We only play in patches, when the going gets tough, we just don't roll up the sleeves often enough & grind it out. We lose way too many close games. Will probably be like every year of late: a mixed bag of really good football, reasonable football & absolutely putrid football.

Collingwood could easily slip out of top 4, not saying they will, but it can happen very easily. Only need their hunger to drop 0.5% & all of a sudden, a few of those close wins end up being close losses. Cannot see Melbourne being anywhere near top 4, not just their off-field dramas, but that forward line & that tactic of long bombs into the forward 50 is atrocious, in saying that my tips are usually putrid so who knows

Harley Reid shouldn't finish top 5 surely. Wouldn't you have Allen Ginbey Duggan Kelly McGovern Barrass Cole ahead of him for starters. Even Gaff and Hewitt. It comes down to injuries... You'd say Yeo too. But a number of those guys have missed a lot of footy.

I'd say Kelly, Allen, Duggan and probably Barrass would be safe bets to finish higher. Gov & Cole I can't trust due to durability which is a huge factor, Ginbey is a toss up

Disagree that Larkey and Allen are the best key Fwds in the bottom sides. Lack of respect by so many toward Mitch Lewis he’s easily at worst on the same level as these two, if not for long injuries each year he’s top 5 or 6 in the Coleman just look at his goals per game stats last few years.

@protoindoeuropean there are so many old players and players off contract this year the rebuild is inevitable. they are relying a lot on two very old forwards and a few aged mids to carry a lot of the load. ultimately there are other teams which are just better and will finish before them
