I like this more than the MILS tutorials I have seen. This seems like it wastes less bricks underneath and creates a more dynamic difference between curbs, sidewalks, and roads. Very cool!

I think 2 studs wide for a one way bike lane is fine, but then you would need it on both sides of the road. If you want it to be a two way I'd make it 5 wide, with two studs blue, then a white stripe and then another two studs.

love love LOVE this… its going to be the new design for our Main Street.. I just question LEGO’s choice of cycle lane colour its quite stark n looks a little like a stream running alongside the road! We’ve just started to design & build a city ourselves.. Although it’ll not be anywhere near the amazing city you guys have… you guys are AMAZING & we can’t stop watching your videos, so inspirational! 💕We’re hope to aspire towards the scale of yours eventually tho..

Thanks so much! And haha, never thought of it looking like a stream, but you do have a good point - where we live, bike lanes are either white or light green

Hi, great tutorial again! Love how you integrated the bike lane mils style. How about using some adjusted plates to hold the white lines on the side of the road? Like, using them underneath the big new road plates on one or two points to attach the white lines onto them. 👍🏼
@AFOLTV3 жыл бұрын
I like the idea! Although, truthfully they don’t really move much. It’s a snug fit, and we’ve used this method throughout our whole city without any issues
@kevinkoster45433 жыл бұрын
@@AFOLTV okay, well, we’re actually gonna try your method next weekend to try and integrate the bikelanes better in out city. If it fits and sticks, it fits and sticks I guess then 😁👍🏼 thanks again and keep on going, we really like your posts 👍🏼

Love this! Will incorporate this into my city. One question: how would you build the modular to fit it with this type of configuration?
@AFOLTV3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We build the modulars and buildings on essentially a stand… we use four of the 16x16 plates, on top of bricks for support, which raises the modulars to the sidewalk level!
@f.f.70133 жыл бұрын
Use mils system
@OllieV__nl3 жыл бұрын
I would imagine four wide would be better for a one lane bike path, or you can even use those new river pieces that came out with the jungle sets. I'm less annoyed at the width and more with the color as ours are red, not blue.
@AFOLTV3 жыл бұрын
Easy to modify as needed for your own personal preferences! Ours our green where we live, but LEGO makes them blue, so we figured we’d carry their color through our city.

Nice job mate. Seems simple. The only problem everyone has is actually having the parts to do them.haha
@AFOLTV3 жыл бұрын
Haha a lot of the parts used are cheap/ easy to find in Bricklink. A few of them are also at LEGO Store Pick a Brick right now!
@carlosa75983 жыл бұрын
@@AFOLTV yeah bricklink would be very helpful for me however its very expensive shipping it to Japan. Im better off getting from the Pick-A-Brick wall, but the parts here are very limited due to the pandemic. Only 20 pieces are available on the wall and its the same parts until its sold out. Hope there was an easier way then me paying $100USD For those yellow Lego Classics of 1500 pieces. I bought 4 of those boxes.😂😂😅😅 Great built though😊✌️🗾

You chose to widen the road by two tiles either side, instead of widening the too narrow bike lane. I hope others choose a more equitable distribution of road space.
@AFOLTV3 жыл бұрын
Chose to widen the road to better fit 6-wide vehicles, and used LEGO’s standard bike lane width. As mentioned in the video, you could easily widen the lane to your personal preference… that’s the beauty of LEGO, it’s customizable
@gregsd3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the cycle lane is too narrow...
@alexanderm.hofmann59683 жыл бұрын
I like the tutorial, because you put the crappy new road plates to good use. But if you make the bike line as low as it is and not flush with the rest AND blue it looks like a drainige gutter to me.
@vmonkeyjuggler2 жыл бұрын
The cycle lane is actually the same height as the road surface & I agree the bright blue is a bit weird but it's blue because Lego have those azure blue 4x2 tiles printed with bicycles to make cycle lanes!🤷♂️
