Whoa! Now this is what I’ve always wanted to know! To add heat or not when deep conditioning. Excellent explanation! As a hairstylist of 23 years, I love to know the science behind it all. Thank you and love your videos! 💕
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the hair type. I go to an Aveda salon that has mainly clients with type 1 or type 2 hair and they hardly ever use heat during deep conditioning. My stylist improvises by wrapping my Afro 4c hair in a hot towel or plastic wrap under the dryer for 10 minutes with the deep conditioner. My trichologists specialise in Afro, curly, coily, kinky and type 4 hair and they use a hooded steamer for 10 minutes for the deep conditioner and also for 10 minutes for the scalp treatment, detangler and leave-in conditioner. I thought they taught your science at beauty school?

Welcome back!!! I noticed waaaay less friction when I switched to a silk pillowcase a few months ago. I also started sleeping with my hair in loose buns, braids, etc and that has helped, too. But fr when I added a satin-lined bonnet a few weeks ago: GAME CHANGER. I don’t care that I look like a grandma... my butt-length hair is so much easier to manage now! I’ve been debating on getting a flaxseed conditioning cap and you totally convinced me! Thanks, Fops!!

Girl I relax my hair and and I waited tooo long (like 4 months) for a touch up so I now have 4 inches of new growth and when I’m in this stage my hair goes into ‘fcuk you’ mode and on wash day it gets super matted and detangled and no matter how much conditioner or detangler product I put on it, it takes HOURS to detangle. Right now I have Hask Afghan oil deep conditioner slathered on my shampooed and conditioned hair with a plastic cap on. It’s really sad how many products I have bought that don’t work. Thank you so much for explaining how all these ingredients work, you are doing God’s work. ❤️

Glad you're back, I learn so much from your videos. I have a mulberry silk scarf that I put on straight after moisturising my hair. Yup I keep my scarf on all day if I'm not going out out. In fact I keep my hair wrapped most of the time because it is so fragile. I cannot style it daily and leaving it in an afro dries it out and makes it exposed to sun damage as I learnt on my last trip to Sicily when I was at the beach without a head scarf or hat swimming.

I hope I didn't sound rude in this question...? So yeah this is my question =I dont know what to do with my hair, its wavy, frizzy, and dark blonde... just a little breeze outside and I look like I've been through a hurricane. I did bleach my hair but that was 5 years ago, it's grown out and I cut it off, so I would consider it not bleached, never touched with color. I use a mask every second to third shower ( Kerastase nutritive masque), leave in ( nutritive masque magistral) and shampoo and conditioner( sometimes from kerastase resistance or Balea oil repaire intensive). I only use cotton t shirts to damply dry my hair and I wash my hair twice a week, I have a lot of split ends and the worst part is my lower hair section near the neck its frizzy kind of curly and split ends all over the place. It's gotten more tangled, I put my hair in a low bun every night with a silk hair tie. I really dont wanna hear it anymore "oh this conditioner from Loreal is great dedede its gonna change your hair- just shower shorter-you shower to often- maybe use this its so great. I want some decent answers since my hair stylist clearly isn't helping...?

I’m assuming Lilysilk sponsored this video, and that’s totally fine and well deserved, but please be open and apparent if a recommendation is actually sponsored or not! You should know that!

I have been binge-watching your videos for a while now! You're even the reason I finally bit the bullet and bought a rev-air 😅. Ive been seeing that you've been wearing your hair out in a blowout style more often in your recent videos. Do you use it every week now? Also, I know there's a bunch of tutorials on this on youtube but I have not found the right technique, can you do a slick-down hair bun tutorial? Or at least spill the tea on how you do it? I have tighter curls than you, but I wanted to see if I can implement any of your tips! Thank you again!

Your content is truly amazing. Would love to hear your opinion on aloe sensitivity. And styling products with film forming humectants that don’t have aloe or proteins. I already use and LOVE KC knot today. But KCCC causes me instant flash drying. 😩

Hahahahaha!!! Thanks sis! Can you believe I did them myself - and it was my first time as well 😂. My fiance got me a whole at home nail salon kit to try when the lockdown happened. I'm currently about to try some polygel for the first time - wish me luck, please! 😂🙏

You could try heating up your conditioner in a bain-marie till it's very warm and then apply it and cover up with a shower cap and towel to trap the heat?
