Whoa! Now this is what I’ve always wanted to know! To add heat or not when deep conditioning. Excellent explanation! As a hairstylist of 23 years, I love to know the science behind it all. Thank you and love your videos! 💕
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
It depends on the hair type. I go to an Aveda salon that has mainly clients with type 1 or type 2 hair and they hardly ever use heat during deep conditioning. My stylist improvises by wrapping my Afro 4c hair in a hot towel or plastic wrap under the dryer for 10 minutes with the deep conditioner. My trichologists specialise in Afro, curly, coily, kinky and type 4 hair and they use a hooded steamer for 10 minutes for the deep conditioner and also for 10 minutes for the scalp treatment, detangler and leave-in conditioner. I thought they taught your science at beauty school?

Girl I relax my hair and and I waited tooo long (like 4 months) for a touch up so I now have 4 inches of new growth and when I’m in this stage my hair goes into ‘fcuk you’ mode and on wash day it gets super matted and detangled and no matter how much conditioner or detangler product I put on it, it takes HOURS to detangle. Right now I have Hask Afghan oil deep conditioner slathered on my shampooed and conditioned hair with a plastic cap on. It’s really sad how many products I have bought that don’t work. Thank you so much for explaining how all these ingredients work, you are doing God’s work. ❤️

Glad you're back, I learn so much from your videos. I have a mulberry silk scarf that I put on straight after moisturising my hair. It has definitely helped me retain more moisture and my hair is much smoother. Most days I keep the scarf on all day to stop myself from touching my hair unnecessarily.
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
Yup I keep my scarf on all day if I'm not going out out. In fact I keep my hair wrapped most of the time because it is so fragile. I cannot style it daily and leaving it in an afro dries it out and makes it exposed to sun damage as I learnt on my last trip to Sicily when I was at the beach without a head scarf or hat swimming.

I hope I didn't sound rude in this question...? So yeah this is my question =I dont know what to do with my hair, its wavy, frizzy, and dark blonde... just a little breeze outside and I look like I've been through a hurricane. I did bleach my hair but that was 5 years ago, it's grown out and I cut it off, so I would consider it not bleached, never touched with color. I use a mask every second to third shower ( Kerastase nutritive masque), leave in ( nutritive masque magistral) and shampoo and conditioner( sometimes from kerastase resistance or Balea oil repaire intensive). I only use cotton t shirts to damply dry my hair and I wash my hair twice a week, I have a lot of split ends and the worst part is my lower hair section near the neck its frizzy kind of curly and split ends all over the place. It's gotten more tangled, I put my hair in a low bun every night with a silk hair tie. I really dont wanna hear it anymore "oh this conditioner from Loreal is great dedede its gonna change your hair- just shower shorter-you shower to often- maybe use this its so great. I want some decent answers since my hair stylist clearly isn't helping...?
