That is just sad. I think these people have watched too many old Tarzan movies (or other movies that demean the entire continent). I have met many African people in my life. Their English is better than most native-born Americans, for sure! I have found that so many people have to put down others when they don't understand a language, custom or faith. Maybe, if we really tried to get to know someone, we might find more similarities than differences. Just a thought. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

This is one of the best comments I've seen, there's homeless people everywhere, There's people poor people allover, There's orphans everywhere. But the fact that the white man uses our people to describe us is so disgusting, I've met many whites that thought they would die when they came to Africa because we kill each other with spears. Some where shocked that we have clothes, Like they thought we move around naked, Only to realise that we are still actually decent in our dressing. It's absurd actually but I wouldn't even take my time to correct someone of that mentality

I never know if question is a put down or somebody is naturally not there… for example one day I was at a train station holding plastic bag with words Holland Amsterdam the woman asked if I have been there or I got it in shifty store… I told her I got duty-free at Amsterdam airport when I was coming back from Africa. She got quiet for few minutes then she asked about my family I told she wanted to know how many brothers and sisters I have I told her, then she WOW! That’s a big family I said yes it. Then she said where those ppl sleep you must find a big tree… that’s when I realized all of the questions was to put me down. I was about to answer in anger, then I reminded my friend told me when I first came here in North America. She said their are ask you stupid questions you give them stupid answers. So I said yes the biggest the have to stay there so no one will take it. She turned red.

@@MegaAndela I'm 35... I was in school BEFORE the people who claimed the Amazon was longer even said so. It was always taught that the Nile is the longest. Just because YOU were taught it, doesn't mean everyone in Europe was taught it. That is why I, from my very first post, talked about myself, my personal experiences. Instead of talking about "what was taught in European school", as if all European schools all teach the same. So you need to learn to speak for yourself instead of others if you want to be misunderstood less. There may have been a time between 2008 and 2010 where in your country or in your specific school they had a textbook that taught people that the Amazon was the longest. Or maybe a teacher read the article and decided to teach it to everyone in his classes even though it wasn't peer-reviewed.
