Liverpool's summertime favourite is back this weekend. The incredible Africa Oyé festival will return on June 17 and 18 to wow audiences in Sefton Park.

I went to the the African oye festival 2023 on Saturday everything was going good until me and my girlfriend went to buy food 2 trays of African chicken curry with rice £20 absolutely shocking that stalls can charge this much. so we paid for the meals, then made our way over to the main oye stage while walking through the crowd I heard a older black man say “why are white people here this is for black people” my girlfriend heard this too. We got to the stage the music was pumping having a good time then right in front of me and my girlfriend a group of guys where snorting off there hands what I can only assume to be coke, they absolutely did not care who seen them, another girl we were standing by noticed this too and said “we have just moved away from the other side because we seen a group of girls right by us taking tablets, and I’ve just heard that lad who was snorting coke saying he’s dying to punch someone’s head in”. This made me and my girlfriend very uneasy and uncomfortable. So me and my girlfriend made a quick exit from the crowd and started to make our way on the path towards the main exit while walking along the path we seen the paramedics attending to a young girl who was lying flat out on the floor. A little further on up the path we seen another person throwing up by a tree. All this happened in the first hour or so. If it wasn’t for a few people spoiling it for the rest it would of been an amazing day.
