1. OBALENDE
ADDRESS: Obalende, Lagos, Nigeria
🇳🇬PUFF PUFF: Mix baking flour, yeast, a little water, salt into a ball and fry
🇳🇬KOKO: Begin with congealed solid millet. In a pot, add the millet and water to liquify it into a paste. In a separate big pot, boil water and pour the mixture of the liquified millet into boiling water and continuously stir it using a big wooden spoon until it thickens.
🇳🇬ABACHA (African Salad): Mix garden egg leaf, cassava shavings, fermented ugba (oil bean), fresh pepper, onions, garden egg, ugwun sauce, roasted fish and cow skin together in a bowl and plate in a styrofoam plate. Top with roasted fish and cow skin (ponmo), which has been marinated in fresh pepper sauce.
🇳🇬TUWO AND GBEGIRI SOUP: Mix grounded corn flour in boiled water. Pour some of the liquid out. After cooking, add more grounded corn flour (dried) and beat it. Pour it back in and continue mixing
🇳🇬BOLI AND GROUNDNUT: Peel and grill the plantain. Dip it into the groundnut and enjoy

I live in lagos nigeria and the food is superb! I like the egusi soup, jolof rice, puff puff, suya, grilled plantain.. eba, fufu.. i missed that country.. and i used to walk at the market alone and people will just stare at you but never harm you. They give you respect.. its only night time that the streets become dangerous for a oyinbo but majority of nigerians in lagos is respectful.. i also travelled to portharcort and abuja.. but lagos is nice bec of victoria island

You should come to Ikorodu area, we rarely see any Oyinbo here, foreigners usually go to Victoria island, lekki, ajah, ikoyi those are the big money spender places, Ikorodu is okay too and it’s the best in Lagos, Ikorodu is the heart of Lagos

@@BlckMariposaI'm Nigerian and here are some nigerian cooking channels: SisiYemmieTv, Tasty city, Annie Itugbu, Phrankleen, Fantastic favour, kikifoodies, Ivoone Ajayi etc. Nigeria is BIG on cuisine, it's one of the countries with the biggest variety of food in the world. These channels will teach you how to cook jollof rice to how to make different swallows like fufu, amala, eba and different soups like egusi, ogbono, pepper soup etc and even teach you how to make pastries like puff puff. Of course these only make up 1% of nigerian cuisine. I would advise you to go to Nigeria to really experience the cuisine😊

@@hart3113 Nope, I had to google what those even were. I'm scandinavian and while I have friends who're "obsessed" with italian food, it usually just boils down to pasta and pizza. The closest thing to a classic snack from where I come from is a sort of doughey cookie named a "Klejner", which is a kind of christmas cookie famous in southern Scandinavia and probably germany. They're like small, dense donuts, but firmly twisted into a pointed oval shape, and they're synonymous with christmas here. We do also have a snack called "Æbleskiver" (roughly translated to "apple slices") which are big, fried doughballs, traditionally made with apples, and are usually served with jam and powdered sugar. They're fluffier and less fatty and are also synonymous with christmas!

I'm not sure how my husband and sons found your channel but ever since they watched the 1st Nigerian food video they've been hooked on this channel and watching non-stop. My children traveled to Nigeria for the first time with my husband last year and my husband said you would've thought the boys were born there. They had a blast and were so excited to see your previous video on grilled Nigerian bush meat. Once all of this pandemic insanity is over we're planning to travel to Nigeria and we'll be going from resorts in one part of the country to resorts in other parts of the country. Fun times!! @@bleeem Yes, all over Africa French is spoken, also English, Italian, Dutch, Mandarin, Arabic and more. Africans love to learn languages, that's why we have over 250 languages in Nigeria. A good example of this openness to languages is portrayed colourfully in a song by a Nigerian Musician 2face - Ihe neme, in that song he thanks people in a lot of languages.
