Thanks for sharing this video. Another content creator showed this video and took pictures of children playing in the water. Sanitary condition don't look healthy. All the waste is in the water. Hopefully they will build up the area for more tourists to pour in resources. The canal ride looks like a money 💰 maker. No real estate?? Great thought to help the locals. 😉👍

​@@kaputajohn3204 You don't pollute the very same water you'll need to drink. They have a specific place as toilet, then they mix it up with the dirt, and that combination becomes fertilizer. Otherwise, no one would be boating or doing anything in that water.

Great job Wode Maya 👏🏾 The government of Benin has planned to invest 130 millions USD to modernize Ganvie while ensuring it remains true to its authenticity. You might therefore plan to come back in 1 year or 2. By the way, your French is getting better and guess what, some people do speak the Ghanaian language Ewe in the Republic of Benin.

I know I have so many other video content that I love but this one has made my morning. Living on the waters in Africa! have never seen or heard. Don’t worry. In the next thousand years, when ppl have moved on and no longer live there, a white explorer will go and wonder how black Africans built this without sophisticated machinery. When they yt pipo can’t fathom how, they’ll rewrite history to say it wasn’t built by blacks. Just like they say about Egypt and Egyptian pyramids. They’ll keep wondering how those pyramids were built, discrediting that black Africans built them.

This is a bit of nostalgia for me back in the 90s and this village is the Venice of West Africa by now has grown in terms of population and the extention of the river.

great video!!! Ohh the water hyacinth is widely considered an invasive plant species and its good to know they are actually benefiting as well by making some dollars out of it.

Yes it's a big problem here in Kenya in Lake Victoria. It's good to see them make good stuffs out of it.. an industry of sorts 👍
