I am Kenyan working and living in Malawi. I frequently travel on this plane between Nairobi and Lilongwe. As someone who has experienced the life here and also someone who comes from around Lake Victoria, if Chambo is Tilapia, we also have a tilapia species in Lake Victoria that tastes much better. Chambo got some small small bones that might be dangerous if you’re not used to eating fish. Generally, Malawi is nice with very amazing and loving people. Cheers.

Loved the video and brings back great memories of my teenage years in Malawi, spent many hours on that viewing balcony at Chileka and flew on the old BAC 1-11 a few times. Malawian's excel with service, it's not called the 'Warm Heart of Africa' for nothing. As I understand the 747SP had a great backstory where it was leased from SA Airways for one journey for the then President, Dr H Kamuzu Banda's visit to the UK in 1985. It was repainted in Air Malawi colours (loved the logo back on the old Air Malawi) and flew to London via Schiphol and then back to Johannesburg, never ever touching Malawian soil, where the lease ended!

I think the bag tags that track your luggage is a fantastic idea! having worked for an airline and in an airport that wasn't diligent about making sure people grabbed the right bags, this would be a perfect solution. once I had a passenger that was flying in for a funeral, and they were doing a photo video of her mother who had died. all of her old photographs of her mother were in her luggage. she was hysterical, and rightly so. fortunately, the person that had grabbed her bag accidently, brought it back. with the tracker this would've been eliminated, and you wouldn't have to rely on the honesty of that person. in her case she got lucky. I'm getting one. did you post a link?

With the ex president of Tanzania, it is actually still a mystery- I lived in Tz in that time and they were actually saying he died of heart disease, as he was having a very bad heart disease. Although I also tend to believe it was covid. It was crazy right then, the cases of a "mysterious pneumonia/bad flu" were rising, oxygen was hard to find in hospital but people still would not believe in covid :) . Not far from where I was staying, they "transformed" an old hospital and they were taking there people with covid who also had other related health issues (especially pulmonary/diabetes/heart problems) and they were practically waiting for them to die, as they had no available treatment for them 😔.
