Hi, Pierre.. My name is Andrea..THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I don't read music I play by ear This way of showing the key names.. C#, Ab etc helps me to memorize hand positions. It's been a long time since I actually read music.. I did it for choral music.. one note at a time when I was quite young. I learned guitar and that helped me with finding majors, minors, major 7ths etc. It wasn't until I was listening to Karla Bonoff that I realized I can play by ear by recognizing chords and reading them in place of the actual notes.. I'm in a classic rock band and listen to the artists songs through my bose and write each note / chord name with the bass note below it. I often miss notes this way, but the response from listeners has been positive. I also have small hands. I can't tell you how grateful I am for finding you!! Thank You So Much for sharing your talent with me. Please take good care. I'll be looking for songs we do from you from now on. I will start now on that solo.. as timing changes for each hand is my BIGGEST challenge.

Seriously, you just get it man. You'd be surprised, but hardly any channels think to include the necessary tools you do. Having sheet music, chords along with highlighted keys as you play are so huge (for me anyway). If I could request one song. Ben Folds "Selfless Cold and Composed" . There's one decent tutorial available on youtube, but I think you'd push players like myself over the hump. Thank you for all your amazing work/content!

Thanks man - just subscribed! You do a very good job 👍 Played the kalimba riff all the time with one hand (with B when playing F sharp) - never did second line.. wasn't there some layering with delay going on in the recording? Btw. the kalimba patch you showed in the Africa solo video - do you use a factory preset or a custom patch on the DX7? It has a very acoustic quality, like it! 👌
@pierrejpiscitelli3 ай бұрын
Thanks! I'll do a breakdown of the patches someday. 🙏🏻

I am just beginning. I have a Roland Go Keys5 and like all electric keyboards, it has a million different tones. I know different brands may call the same tone something different. But if you could give us what tone you are using, it may make it a bit easier to find the correct setting. We all want to make ours sound as close to what you are playing. Thanks!
@pierrejpiscitelli2 ай бұрын
This is a tricky thing, because we all use different gear/plugins. But, I'm happy to make a video about how I got the sounds!
