I once drove through a swarm while on a motorbike as a teenager, never pulled over so fast, thankfully I had a thick hoody on, that I took off at light speed, covered in Bee's, so lucky as I didnt get stung once 😬

What were you spraying into the nest? Was it intended to kill? I have seen Africanized bees moved carefully and allowed to continue living they are not as deadly as people think they are just more aggressive about protecting what's theirs. I found this video disturbing

Because bees aren’t a sign of the imminent Apocalypse. But they should be. It is weird though. You can run from locusts, but no matter how far, or how fast you run, you won’t outrun the apocalypse. I mean, I assume. I don’t really believe that the world is going to end at the hands of God. We’re doing a perfectly fine job of it all by ourselves.

I would have waited until just before they wake up around sunrise when most of them are in there and vacuum them bad boys out as much as you can first. Then get the honey. And then take care of the rest the way you were doing.

He was spraying something under the lid so I think he had to euthanize the hive. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sad for honey bees to have to die but for the last 30 some odd years we’ve been told that Africanized Honey bees were a problem. To see them finally and their fury is overwhelming

Buy a can of wasp spray at the store last for 10 seconds, they spray for over a minute. Cans at store 75% empty.

I was thinking the same thing. Although his spray can was only shooting out a few inches where the wasp spray cans shoot 20 feet. And that entire box would have been covered in foamy spray in 10 seconds with the wasp spray. Not sure what he was spraying, looked like starter fluid or a can duster😂

@@jimjordan5630 Africanized bees ARE dangerous to humans, pets, livestock and even other wildlife. Removing the African bee genetics is the best practice. Gentle bees are much safer and more desirable to work with in an apiary.

Nothing yet. I currently work for the guy holding the camera. We typically don’t lift the lid first. The other guy wanted to try the honey before it was contaminated so he lifted the lid first. Normally we spray it with CB-80 first then delta dust then onslaught fast cap

it would have been much more effective to just flood the box with soapy water rather than letting all those escape and using poison. ive kept africanized bees and they can be requeened sucessfully 9 out of 10 times so if your not going to keep them then soapy water is the best way to exterminate. was this video made by some municipal workers who just needed them gone and didn't know what to do?

@@v1ncent111 I believe you. I saw clips of people working with or trying to remove Africanized nests, they really are a piece of work. Crazy. A man couldn't even get close to the nest because already then they were getting pissed off. I must say, though that my fear is getting less and less. I watched a lot more videos and became more sympathetic and interested with the bees. But I don't think I would still try and get close.

Slightly smaller, I'm told... but the only way you really know is if they get a whole swarm to attack you in wild abandon, and that's probably too late. I live in New Mexico right now and while I have great respect for bees anyway, I make it a point not to piss one off.
