I have a friend named Ibrahim who is a Black Egyptian and he is not Nubian(although conscious people like myself know the Nubians and Egyptians are inseparable). He and his family are from Lower Egypt(North), and have always been there. They want to erase the reality that Black Africans are in fact indigenous to Egypt, they want to re-write the history of the paintings on the walls the depict darker brown complexioned Egyptians being in Egypt before and after Nubian Pharoahs, lighter brown complexions started to happen as a result of intermarriages with Europeans and Asians. Even modern Arabic Egyptians show evidence of the higher melanin content of Black Africans in their complexion, they also have prominent Black African facial features such as the fuller lips and broader noses, and more curly or wavy hair. You are so right. Skin shade is NOT at all relevant to beauty, or intelligence, and further more, you would not be considered dark skinned in most parts of Sub-saharan Africa. I guess what is "dark" is relative. I'm much darker than you, and even I am not considered dark skinned in West Africa. But I have brothers who have that lovely Ebony complexion, where they are so dark, they're almost blue, and their eyes and teeth contrast so beautifully with their complexion, and they're all over 6 feet, and look like they could be from some tribe akin to the Massai.
