This is amazing, even though it was at least 60yrs ago.

I love The Ronettes, and Be My Baby was one of my favorite songs from the early 1960's. They were the first to release Be My Baby, and the year was 1963. It was written for them by a famous music producer named Phil Spector, who later became the lead singers husband. That was a great request, and I enjoyed your reaction.

1963. Classic. The Ronettes "Be My Baby" inspired Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys to write "Don't Worry Baby". As for "Shout", for a moment there I feared Ronnie Spector would trip over the microphone cord. Go-Go dancers were a thing back in the sixties.

Classic. Yes the Ronnettes is a POC trio. She was an older teen when the trio formed. Later, she was the ex-wife of Phil Spector. He abused her. Thus, a divorce happened. In the recording, the late Glen Campbell played guitar . He and The Ronnettes played this song at The Ed Sullivan Theater on The Ed Sullivan TV Show. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys listened to this song. This was the inspiration for the sing Don't Worry Baby. Written by Brian Wilson and the late Roger Christian. The modern rock band Garbage sampled that song in the song Push It. Decades later, Wilson and the late Ronnie Spector met. Great interview to see. The drum beats on the break was sampled later in the song Take Me Home Tonight sung by the late Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector in 1986. When Ronnie Spector passed away 3 years ago, Brian Wilson and Garbage had eulogies in their tweets. RIP Roger Christian, Glen Campbell, Ed Sullivan, Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector. Suggested videos : 1 Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector sing Take Me Home Tonight live on David Letterman. 2 The Beach Boys perform Don't Worry Baby. 3 Garbage performs Push It. 4 Glen Campbell and Air Supply perform Even the Nights Are Better.

Great song. I kind of like another big hit just a bit more which is Be My Baby. I would suggest you listen to that and then also listen to the version done by The Hillbilly Moon Explosion. More modern and has more punch. But both versions are great. Just for the record Phil Spector while a great producer was also nutty. Quite a few stories about his erratic behavior especially when dealing with The Ramones and also with his wife, Ronnie Spektor.

Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys considers Be My Baby to be the greatest pop song of all time (and he should know). He plays it on the piano before he goes to bed every night. Ronnie has one of the greatest voices of all time
