You have literally years of your life recorded; I urge you to go back through your videos and see all of the things you have accomplished and all of the ways that you have grown. And know that you are enough , you always have been, and you always will be. I hope you find the balance and inner peace that you're seeking. Much love.

Ashleigh, I'm right there with you. It's a struggle to avoid that narrative of failure when we are growing out of a phase or lifestyle. My routine and time management have been a mess lately. I'm working full time in a stressful and busy job. I'm also attending school full-time to get a degree that I would have had 20 years ago if I hadn't dropped out. For the past year, work and school have consumed my life, leaving me no time for self-care. I took a day off work last week to do school work and had a bit of a breakdown. Instead of school, I cleaned the house and went shopping. And those sound like chores, but they felt like self care because I was in such a better frame of mind afterward. My final classes are wrapping up in 2 weeks. I cannot wait to do what I see you doing, trying to develop a balance between have-to-do and want-to-do. I wish you luck!

I will never get tired of someone prioritizing their own mental health above work! That's an essential part :D Thank you for sharing your recent struggles with us. It is incredibly sad creators feel the need to justify their content going a little bit down in quanitity when they want to focus on the quaintity, both of their lives adn the content they create. I am glad you are chossing a little bit for yourself too, a bit more healthy of a balance in life. And I, for one, look forward to anything you'll make. As a patreon I love being on the sidelines and supporting what you do as a person and if that means less content with a happier Ashleigh, I'd say it's worth it 10000% (but then, what's my opinion matter when it's all about YOU) As a remainder I guess I wanna thank you for always making the quiet content you do, and for taking time out of your day for being able to make this content

Self care can be hard to incorporate into one’s life. I love to see that you are working on this. My biggest hurdle is feeling like I am not worthy of self care. I find things I really enjoy doing. Then I feel like I done deserve it because I’m not __________ (whatever I’m feeling at the moment).

Its an ongoing process here as well. But I do have a sense that things are shifting.. been reading about cyclical lifestyle and the wheel of the year lately. To me it makes alot more sense to slow down and therefore allowing myself to do so, without beating myself up all the time. No labour without rest.

Whenever I have those thoughts, I remind myself that nature put me on this earth to simply exist, spend time in nature, nurture myself and make connections, all the other expectations were just created my humans to "prove" something we don't need to prove. We're here to just be and not to prove ourselves, we deserve happiness regardless of anything 💚. I hope you'll find your balance, we love you very much💚

That apple crumble looks so yummy! 🤗🤗🤗 This was such a beautiful vlog & I can totally relate especially when you talk about how you have just been doing content along side of going to school & work & how you want to slow down. I too have always wanted to be that powerhouse of a woman…but the nonstop lifestyle just isn’t something that is sustainable. Trying to balance everything is so hard & not accomplishing everything does lead to this mindset of failure. But we’re not failures…we are just not mindless machines. And as you said…just the effort is admirable. I personally find you vlogs & videos to be SO COMFORTING! Just your whole aesthetic & vibe. I feel like so many of your shots do remind me of films. Like, I always feel like if you made films, they would be AMAZING because you capture things so beautifully! 😍😍😍 And I am a girl who used to spend sooo much of her time watching films. Blockbusters & indie…so I’m not just saying things to say it. I think that might be another reason why your vlogs comfort me. Because they remind me of how films once comforted me. I just don’t watch films the way that I used to anymore. I hope that these methods work for you & that you achieve the lifestyle that you are craving because you deserve it. You are right about having to readjust especially when your life is changing. I hate change & crave a certain level of routine so it wears on me. But I’ve been trying to roll with change the older that I get. I love you & am sending you all the warmest energy! 🥰🥰🥰✨✨✨✨

What you said about rephrasing what you say & how you say it...is absolutely right! Many people don't realize how negative self talk can impact their lives. I, like many, believe we create our own realities & this starts with our thought patterns. For a long time I've made it practice to tell myself "I love you" & "Your beautiful" a few times a day, everyday. For me, it helps to cement those beliefs within me:) So it's awesome your seeing this & utilizing these tools to make change within your life as well 💚

Ashleigh, thank you so much for sharing this. I can definitely relate and I'm also on a journey to live more slowly and live more instead of for example browse social media for hours. Your videos make me miss Edinburgh so much! I studied in Scotland about 5 years ago and would take day trips there all the time. I recently found that taking the Instagram app off of my phone during the week really helps me not scroll so much. I have it on my iPad, so I can still post content. But when its on my phone I find that I scroll more often then I actually post. Social media is such a battle though. I hope that you are able to figure out a good system with it soon!

I love this for you. I'm finally working in backstage theatre (as an Assistant Stage Manager aka ASM) on a musical in London. I'm only on my 5th day but already realise I need to readjust and try to find a balance between life, work and play/rest. Since September I've gone from one ASM role to another with little time in between each to rest and reflect, so I am attempting to find small moments in my day for self care. Even if that is just making food the night before so I can sleep a bit longer in the morning, or having a bath, or being creative just for me and not for anyone else to see. Hopefully with small adjustments that become habits we can move towards a better balance in life!
