I'm so ready for Wukong, he's been slept on for too long. Wukong is literally the catalyst to why Goku exists today. He is the Chinese pioneer of "shadow clones". His powers in actual mythology and stories are so vast he's literally a library of broken abilities and its cannon too. Y'all gotta put the respects on how big Wukong is and his influence on so many OG classic characters. I'm so happy to see the devs are expanding on many shits and abilities. Wukong is not slept on fam. China drops an animated movie for Bro like every other year. He has live action adaptations too. Not to mention inspiring Goku(Japanese) and Mori Jin(South Korean). He has a whole lego Cartoon where he'a a mentor, which was made to introduce legos into china. DC comics made him an official Superhero like a year or 2 ago too Wukong is pretty much the BIGGEST cultural icon on the planet and the MOST Popular Trickster character in fiction. Nobody in their right mind sleeps on that monkey😂

@@no.1spidey-fan182 Hell yeah he's not slept on in China, Japan or Korea and even many other parts of Asia. Even Malaysia (if my memory ain't shit) has a tribute statue to Wukong. Alot of the blockbuster movies and top Manhwas back in 2015 and before are from the Mythology too. I didn't know about the Lego shit tho, that's news for me. When I said slept on as in the Western side of things. Only recent years has more people associated Goku with Wukong, and the many arts, games inspired by Wukong. A large plethora of people still don't know who the fuck Wukong is or his lore. Chinese mythology in general, to me, is still slept on in its potential. I don't know how there hasn't been more large scale games based off of it. Off the top of my head I can only think of Asura. I'm surprised there isn't a GOW level franchise off Chinese mythology yet. This game is about to give Wukong and the Chinese culture even more exposure.

A lot of this is early footage, developers took a survey from everyone who played the most recent demo and supposedly bosses are going to be more active and quick with their movements. Also you're very right about it being like a main character game, in the story Wukong is basically an unstoppable immortal force and only ever really gets beat by people using magic hacks.

The combat offers three attacking stances as smash pillar and thrust, each leading to a different kind of heavy attack and enhanced heavy attack. Black Myth: Wukong encourages an active attacking style, not just defensive counterattacks. It is not a Sekiro or Souls-like game. The combat tempo is faster but it is still challenging. If your skills are up to par, you can continuously trigger a boss's hitstun, leading to smooth and thrilling combat. The game does have a block/parry mechanics. One of few ways we’ve seen players parry enemy attacks is through a light-heavy combo in Smash Stance, which has a mechanic similar to GP (guard point) in Monster Hunter. “Stone Solid” is another block/parry ability that’s been revealed. In previous demos, it was also shown that certain bosses (like the Tiger Vanguard) have the ability to parry player attacks as well. Player could obtain that ability after defeat him. It is a easily-used and time-limited technique allowing player to use for parry, the effect and sound are very cool. some spells and techniques haven't been revealed. So far he has these spells and abilities： Immobilized enemy invisible "Stone Solid" instant hardening that parry all attack fire circle that scare the evils and buff recovery clones magic by hairs transforming (4 kinds leaked)

I'm just here to talk about some cultural backgrounds of Wukong because as a Chinese I feel like it's my obligation. I've been witnessing people saying that Wukong is Indian (Hanuman), or Japanese (Goku), especially from Indian nationalists on the internet. Saying that is like saying Joe Biden is a Chinese transgender. Wukong is a character from Journey to the West (16th Century), at the time no evidence of translated Hindi books were present. And Goku is a salute to Wukong (Their name in Kanji/Hanji is literally the same). To understand the story I hope you guys can look into the book, and please remember this is Chinese, (ethnically and nationally)🇨🇳, I hate the cultural thieves and sorry for all this disturbance. Lord hanuman timeline ,based on events and conditions of evidence is calculated to be older than 7000 years ago and is completely unrelated to Chinese culture . As you said since wukong was written before ramayana was translated, it's unrelated to Indian culture.

If nobody knew Wukongs name before they sure as hell will now. Hes arguably the strongest being in all of fiction thats immortal several times over. He ate peaches from the divine tree and the seeds gave him his first level of immortality. Second: he erased his name from the Book of Death so now he ignores the very concept of death completely. And each of his 72 transformations is a life of its own. So even if someone bypasses his immortality theyd have to kill Wukong 72 times. His tools. His treasures. The iconic pole. Able to change its size at Wukongs will. The Cloud. Doubles as both a mode of transport as well as a weapon. And lastly his gourd. Its able to suck anything in and seal it inside regardless of what it is. His armor was a gift for reaching an undersea kingdom. Hes also skilled in every mystic art ever taught to him which includes multiplication and transformation. His changes are perfect. Whoever wukong turns into he gains their powers. He can also duplicate himself using his hairs the number being over 40 thousand and each being as strong as the original. On top of everything listed Wukong also has another treasure. He was gifted three mystic hairs that will turn into any object he needs. The only two people who have ever beaten him. Are Buddha. And the Jade Emperor.
