The number of people who are actually buying the game is even less due to it being niche. Helldivers sold 8.6 million copies. They're leaving a ton of sales on the table because the game doesn't run well. They've already sold close to 16% of that number at 400K, but people are refunding like crazy.

That's kinda the idea. I think the end goal is for faction warfare to be one of the main motivations long-term as the factions fight over control in a sorta peristent, large scale conquest mode. Planetside is probably a good comparison or even Foxhole. You can see them laying the groundwork down for this with things like the AI PMCs or the fact that theres a "camps" tab on the map implying we'll eventually be able to establish other bases outside of the main one.

@@AntboyIan faction based games will always die (in terms of pvp relevancy). every single one that has more than 2 factions, just dies. 10000% proven. every mmo with more than 2 factions ends up having borderline impossible balance. one side will always have significantly more players and then people from the least player side will join the faction with the most players and then that side will get so big that it instantly dominates all combats. look at new world, that is the most recent example of how horrid and difficult it is to balance 3 factions. 2 is the perfect amount. this should have been 2 factions and one factionless. thats it. if they focus on the faction aspect, they have to be so significantly different from one another that there is actually a strong reason to be one or the other. if they are all just namesake then everyone will join their favorite streamer or the side with the most players. but then it comes down to, if they are all significantly different, noone will pick the clearly weaker one. so there will be no point in picking that. they have to strongly avoid the faction aspect of this game. it shouldnt exist. or it should come down to 2 factions and a neutral. even planetside had significant issues with faction population. one faction had 20% more players than the 2nd place faction. and the 3rd faction was non existent. and that game tried to balance factions with different perks and that barely brought playrate to a similar number. they cannot focus on the factions. they absolutely cannot. no dev has been able to do it in the past and im 100% certain these guys havent unlocked the secret formula to making it work. its just too difficult.

Biggest problem for me so far game is that the game is so blurry grainy and pixelated I can't see anything, Seems to have the exact same issue "The Finals" has - there is no native resolution rendering and the anti aliasing is forced and aggressive TAA, you are forced into using an upscaling/AI method, whether it's DLSS or something else. The issue is this is forcing insane anti-aliasing to the point where visibility on distance/moving objects is so poor, the game is virtually unplayable. Even at native 4k and yes i have glasses and did check my eyes and set my 3d resolution to 100%, you can barely see enemies who are 50m out because they are just a blurry mess. I don't know if this is a new trend, but this is the second FPS game which just doesn't have an option to disable anti-aliasing or have native rendering, and both have been unplayable, because the forced blur is so bad it causes eyestrain/headaches and reduces visibility to such a degree that the game loses any chance of being enjoyable. I went through all the options and there is no way to remove the blur, which is especially noticeable on distance objects or those in motion, please fix this.

At least for nvidia cards you can disable in game AA and override with the method you prefer. In nvidia control panel under 3d settings you can set it to “enhance in game settings” or “replace in game settings “

Is that whole thing, GZW it’s cheaper than tarkov, but you can run tarkov on a 1660, granted that tarkov came out when this GPU was relevant. Still, only 15% of steam userbase can run this game “playable”. Now the issue is dev prioritization, will they work on performance or work on adding new things and fixing bugs. ATM optimization is being done by 3rd parties like nvidia(dlss) and amd(FSR) which is not that good because these companies gatekeep updates to newer hardware

so far my biggest problem with GZW (beside performance) is server stability. I'm playing on EU servers - mostly East but sometimes have to change to West. There is soooooo much rubberbanding and immortal bots I sometimes wonder which statement is correct: - I can't hit a shot - I have bad ammo unable to pen IIIA armor - AI is bugged and turns into fucking tank - Server doesn't give a fuck about my shots Most of the time it just feels like after sending entire mag into an AI it does nothing

I went into gray zone expecting the same level of development as tarkov back in 2017. Having played 10 hours of gray zone it is totally a base its not done or even close but for $35 I am enjoying it and it was definitely worth it. Also gives me an alternative to tarkov because after 4k hours im done with that game bsg took all my trust and I am already beyond bored.

It's still an alpha build like you said, but they have a great foundation for a great game. You said back when it was first announced that it would be a slower paced tarkov and you were exactly right. This is a great game for casual gamers. Once more people finish the game, the pvp will increase. As it progresses, the better it will become. I've really enjoyed helping other players.

What I love most about the game is the little focus on loot. We are PMCs, not homeless scavs. The meat is on the quest rewards and PVP spoils. This way you can actually focus on the gunfight. This game doesn't mistreat us like tarkov does, it values our time while still giving tense and exciting moment to moment gameplay.

I already considered it on Reddit. I think they should add some community driven storyline. Example: Helldiver2. Add global events. Stop a convoy or liberate a defined POI where other see a mission to defend that POI. Or create map grids to liberate, like in Helldiver.

It's somewhere around 20% finished, at least that's what the devs say. Next big update is going to be day/night, crafting and weather scenarios, and that's gonna push it to 25-30% content. There's a lot to come. They pretty much said, they want to put everything in the game, they are able to do. I'd say when this game reaches 100% of it's planned content, it's gonna be the biggest realistic shooter in existence, if they ever finish it :)

Imo one of the best things they can do is add an ai gunner to the choppers that shoot enemies that are too close to the landing zones, give enemies an audio que to let them know that they are in the killzone, and add more structures around landing zones to break up line of sight. There is nothing else they can do to fix the issue. They will end up doing exactly this eventually so they might as well do it now.

Good thing you're finished with it because SC is calling. 🤪 If people with high end PCs are having issues then there's definitely something wrong with their system settings. In 25hrs I've crashed only once that is not counting disconnects from the servers to the main menu (NA East). I'm on medium Graphics and I get 80-120FPS with: 6700XT 5600X 32GB DDR4 (I don't remember the speeds) Supposedly the devs want to add territories in the future for players to fight over. The lack of PvP eventually is a legit concern long-term, but the 100+hrs that fast is 1% so I doubt they're worried about appealing to those players as it's not tb majority, I get it though as it's some of you guy's job to provide content to us. I'm still running into loads of players in the mid-difficulty areas.

They really need to work on the optimization, i would love to play it more and test but i just cant run it. Heres my ideas for some of the questions in this video: Maybe if they added weapon durability (so that every time you died it took from the durability of your gun, making running back to your body cost something)+ publicly broadcast supply drops in locations of interest+ meaningful or valuable loot that would alter the wipe for yourself (im thinking something cosmetic for now maybe, some game function later)+ cooldown on lz travel (you have to wait 5-15 or something minutes to travel back to the same lz). Maybe these would help with the game flow?

Having a blast with a buddy on the PVE side of things, couldn't speak to or care about PVP, but agree with the rest of the video... as long as it's framed from the perspective that this game is < 1 week "old" and has already done so much. People need to realize "early access" ~= beta, at most (typically), so expectations should be suitably adjusted. That said, for $35 this is absolutely fantastic, and I would add "Ghost Recon Wildlands" to Tarkov and Arma, as far as the environment and overall "feel" of the game.

Besides the fact that its not practical enough for anyone to actually do that (you could technically do this in as game like BF, afaik no one does, because its dumb), it's also just virtually impossible in the game currently. You can't squad up with people on the opposite faction, so on top of sacrificing your ability to play with your friend it would also be incredibly difficult and time consuming to attempt to load into the same server, especially since you wouldn't even be able confirm you're on the same server without meeting up somewhere on the map.

Something I like to mention in regards to quitting Tarkov is that BSG loses money from people playing because of the cost of running the game like server maintenance, patches, etc. So people who just completely stop playing not only lose out on the best extraction shooter on the market, but also do nothing to hurt BSG's bottom line. This doesn't really count for content creators though since playing the game to an audience might get more people to play in spite of whatever controversy BSG cooked up this time.

Their reward for completing the task is shared with you or some form of payment would be given to you.. Something like that.. To give you reason to keep going back in.. And maybe you can build a reputation that other players can see.. (amount of help you've provided) just thinking out loud

They could definitely do like Airdrops with specialized gear, apparel items, and bundles of money that don’t interfere with the main quest line that the PVP people that aren’t doing quests could go fight over. This way they aren’t just camping people trying to do quests and they have something to go after at end game.

The performance is definitely the biggest hinderance for me and my friends rn. Even the ones with older pcs were able to run Tarkov at decent enough fps to grind it out. Meanwhile gzw has both a fraction of the content and a fraction of the fps and while i have no issue with perservering on ultra low settings and 60fps they either wont or cant do it.

Obviously there's a lot of variables that can effect what ones PC is capable of; but for me personally GZWs performance is on par with Tarkov, if not better, especially when you consider the difference in size and visual fidelity. I'm getting a pretty consistent 120 FPS on medium settings and I by no means have a beast of a PC. Even my brother who has a 1080 was getting 60-75 with mostly "high" settings, 1440p. Have you looked at performance guides and tuned your settings? there are options that make a night & day difference for performance.

theres actually a lot of stuff in the game. just because you have your 3 main traders at level 1 doesnt mean theres no content. tons of missions, attachments, bosses, etc.

I guess another issue I personally have is that there is nothing stopping people from sitting in a bush for a long time while sustaining themselves in an AO. First two pvp experiences were landing outside of Ban Pa and not even lasting one minute before getting killed from someone camping in a bush. They need to create and incentive (or some sort of consequence) that forces people to keep moving to create more engaging pvp fights

I pretty much agree with everything in this video, the devs just need more time to cook. I wish there was more of a focus on pvp. I think something that could help with the extract camping or randomly bumping into other players is if the extract zone was a wider area and you could pick where the helicopter could land, I feel like that would add enough randomness to it.

I'm definitely having a blast with the game , yeah given it's early state I can see once the quests are done you don't have much to do - for now. Back in 2017 when Tarkov was in late Alpha, there wasn't a whole lot to do as well. Just loot, kill scavs/players, explore the map. I think the game is in a good position - just gotta let it grow a bit!

Idk what their plans are for the radiated zone in the middle is but would be cool if that was a place where end game missions take place and people fight over territory or to find certain items. Would make sense to have mostly pve content everywhere else then the thunderdome in the center where the stakes are highest. Also regarding the helicopters, hopefully they add some vehicles like quad bikes or those little side by sides at least.

Like you said the base is there. When I play GzW I keep thinking " whatever you do don't die" because then I'll have to deal with the annoyance of getting back to my body. Tarkov on the other hand is "try not to die because I have all this loot I wanna stash and build guns and my bankroll" GzW has a ways to go but I think at some point it will be good there just isn't that much to do right now. I just love Tarkovs raid system and the timer, it makes for some extremely tense moments I haven't been able to find in other games.😅

i think its more like, long time eft players want to try something else for variety and noob eft players who think eft is too hard want a more casual and less punishing version of it. in terms of pvp, if any game is gonna have it, it needs to be good or be pve only. otherwise its gonna die because the PvEvP is a new concept as every game made is either one or the other; not both.

Whatever the end result is, BSG will never get another dime from me. I would have supported them but not after screwing over long time supporters. You can just go onto the pve servers rank to lvl 20 an go back to pvp server and be that same lvl 20 because the rank carries over lol its so stupid it should be 2 separate ranking accounts. You might have driver problem I can run 50+ fps at 1440p in 4070 with r9 and it even a laptop also I have only 16gb of ram with single chanel, forgot to mention that if use 1080p with dlss balance and frame gen fps go over 100 but trade with blurry image quality. Make sure that driver and windows is upto date and if problem not fix try use DDU wipe all GPU driver and install it again

Performance should their first priority after that fixing the AI, adding more quests and better loot to the points of interest and fixing Landing Zones. The map has room for more points of interest down the line.

this game have a good foundation and it will go to places if the team keeps up the dedication I recall struggling to pick up tarkov, and this game let me introduce this genre to my friend. The first town is literally a training wheel. There is a fair share of pvp at certain areas, not sure if its just your servers. I believe most ppl new to this genre are actively avoiding fights/ratting out due to gear fear They have lots to iron out though, and people who miss massive pve experience in tarkov can literally be solved by just a new map etc in future

I kinda would like to see a location go up for grabs for a short time and a faction could take that position for so long. During occupation time, other factions could try to take it. While holding that position it spawned random, good loot. Just a thought to push more pvp.

I've been thinking bout the map. They should of made each main town laid out differently, that way you'd get 3 times as much game to play. Cause all towns laid out the same. Cause if you think the pvp invading your town, they know where everything is. And randomize ai locations would be good.

I think the guns could use some more life in this game…sway, recoil, better noise, borders to the scope when swaying fast…etc. Squad and tarkov still haven’t been beat in terms of gunplay imo.

i agree. make pvp and loot better. All you do in this game is explore the map and shoot ai while you play a quest copied from Tarkov. there is no looting and you only extract cus theres nothing else to do. Heli rides got old real fast

PvP and loot aren't really the intended focus, it isn't supposed to compete in Tarkov in that way. The "tarkov killer" rhetoric that surrounds the game created a false understanding of what it is trying to be. It's much closer to something like Ghost Recon WIldlands with some elements borrowed from extraction shooters, as opposed to a "pure" extraction shooter where the focus is looting and PvP.

Cycle frontier was hands down the best alternative to tarkov. Sadly it died, because they made it free to play and couldnt afford the servers anymore. I hope it might return in the future. Wouldnt mind paying 30+ euros for it :)

we have factions. use them. give us special tasks where we have to secure or dominate a region on the map to get better gear from traders or some free stuff if we succeed to hold an area for like a day. "I have this trading route at this location so you all get some aks when you hold it for my courier.." ... you get the point

For LZ's problem. They just need to RNG where the chopper will drop you off, put the trees in and slide people down on the rope rļly fast... So you're not in the middle of football field... Same for pick up, clip yourself in the rope fast between trees and fly away... Even the chopper type they used has the reeling thing for the rope on the frame! :)

Anyon running 13th & 14th Gen Intel - Absolutely neeed to Have their MB BIOS up to date. with curreent BoIS AS intel pre BIOS releases have it drawling to much power, current bios for all 13th & 14th are Caped at 280Watts Vs the 500watt draw, i was absolutely no able to conntect to server or main menu and was in the GZW discord. Happen to find a Tech savy guy helping everyone get the game running and SUCCEEDING 85% with all types of builds.. Make sure the Windows is fully up date- all driveers for GPU . then Update your BIOS - this is 100% needed if you havent done this for LGA 1700 INTEL on Unreals engine. hope evereyone who has bougght this and has a newer CPU too be able to enjoy this. this isnt the games fault. this is actually a intel based BIOS > MB conflic and you will see a 100% inprvement. GOOD lUCK out their !

Dayz does a good job of airdrops on the modded servers give you a notification and a rough area its going would be so fun having multiple teams there in your faction fighting against other factions it would promote pvp aswell
