If you like quickbloom Cyno realistically Furina/Baizhu do just as well as this team (if not better in some ways), but I personally feel Emilie is far more unqiue with him. Plus thats two five stars units vs one!

@@Solunerra Baizhu's burst still feels too short and his dendro application is not enough for substantial dendro core damage. Basically I almost always use two dendro units (Baizhu+Nahida, Baizhu+DMC, Nahida+DMC), so one can cover for another, which is sad, because it restricts team building. I methodically pulled for every dendro unit Cyno may want and now I await Emely rerun in hope she can finally be his perfect match

Most likely a side effect of being released literally right before 5.0, not to mention notable theorycrafters that imo ignored how usable she could be in different contexts (by not properly showing it, they usually acknowledged things like this Cyni team but then go back to spreadsheet impact and say “but is really better to just do these specific teams with Emilie”). Not that everyone watches every theorycrafter, but they often tend to be the origin point of sentiment around a characters mechanical utility in the community as a whole, I think. And then theres the whole stupid concept art thing that I dont want to get into. Quite frankly I think people just wanted excuses to skip Emilie and used anything negative they could think of to justify it (which is silly, just say you dont want to pull for a character because you are saving for Natlan units rather than screaming about concept art being pink)

Yep shes an extremely good unit for diversifying team dmg output as long as you bring in Pyro in some form, but also engaging in hiw she requires you to know how to maintain his damage uptime in some contexts (particularly if you being hydro into the mix)

I built an entire team for Cyno, I just needed Nahida. When I lost that 50/50 I gave up. Baizhu and Yanqing are super useful for other characters, luckily, but Cyno has always been that one unit I didn't want to give up on. I might pull for Emilie on her next rerun just to give my boy justice.

I actually regret my Raiden more than my Cyno despite not using either lmao. I like Cyno but he shares a lot of characters that I already use in different teams (Xingqiu, Yelan, Baizhu) and I use Yae Miko enough to cover my electro needs. But this is an interesting take on a team comp and I will try t use it myself. Especially since I have Emilie and her weapon, I have Thoma and use him in my main teams (along with him being triple crowned), and Yaoyao... I have her lmao.

I know he basically has one "perfect" meta team and you usually like making content about less standard team comps. But maybe if you decide to do that Xiao video anyway you can consider exploring his non-optimal teams? I like Xiao and I want to pull him, but I haven't build Faruzan and I don't really want to pull Xianyun. Yet my Wanderer teams perform decently without Faruzan. Maybe Xiao's reliance on his perfect team is also overrated?

Yeah, I dunno what I will do for the Xiao video, yet. Definitely not a Xiao/Faruzan/Furina/Xianyun combo haha. It will have to be something using him to trigger reactions in some form, I think. Will tweak the music in the future. I think I actually had it lower this video than I have in the past. Mostly its a problem of certain parts of the music being much louder than other parts, so if I make it too quiet then you basically hear nothing for part of it lol. I could find more neutrally balanced bg music (volume wise) but I like using the battle themes in Genshin so I dunno

Awesome team concept! What irks me is that people are saying that Emilie is forgotten or underappreciated - it seems that most Natlan characters will be using her in some of their best teams! If Mualani and Kinich is anything to go by, she will be a mainstain for a good while into the future. She's just the last unit in the region and like all others (Kazuha, Yelan, Baizhu) she will be one of the most valuable pulls in the game. You can call it coping, but nobody with a design this good should be this disliked...

But its also kinda a team format that I feel is more enjoyable with other electros, plus that is three limited five stars vs the one required (Emilie) for this variant. Ultimately the teams are doing very different things overall, and could have some situanal advantages/disadvantages over another

i LOVE reactions teams, one of my faves i Tighnari, Emillie, Dehya and Dori, I called this one (2 Dendro, 1 pyro and 1 electro) Carbonara xD just because i want to add more variations to culinary teams. I have one called Caprese (Dendro, Hydro, Beidou, Hydro/Dendro) its basically a variation of Salad, one called Popcorn (Albedo, Hydro, Dendro, Pyro or Albedo, Hydro, Dendro Sucrose/Venti/Kazuha) and Gnocchi (Electro, Geo with Petra/Cinder, Venti and Dendro). Its so dumb but i love them, and they work pretty well in the spiral abyss xD

I'm a Cyno main and I honestly was curious about this sort of team (I play him in quickbloom mostly) and if her application synergizes with him, but I had a guaranteed when Emilie dropped and there's a lot of Natlan characters I want, so I ended up skipping her for now. It seems to be alright and actually pretty fun, I might get her for him and Kinich teams one day. I would've liked to see a showcase with a more, hmm, traditional build with more EM and his BiS instead of atk/ER sands and PJWS. Just to see the real dmg of a C2R1 Cyno and get a better idea of how much the aggravates of mine would do in a non-Furina qb team. Like this it looks more of an Emilie showcase at times lmao

Feel free to join my streams and remind me to show it, or you can go back and watch my polearms only streams testing Emilie a bunch (I initially did all my testing with Cyno on SoSS). It performs better, but not in a way that meaningfully improved clear times (this is just an effect of how diversified the team dmg output is and how good my build is even with an ER timepiece). I dont prefer a higher damage build because I dont need the higher damage, ultimately, and Id rather have a higher energy build that improved how he feels to play and gives me more team flexibility (not needing to do double electro). Cyno is not made to have the big high multiplier hits that Emilie gets (aggravate is at its best with lots of instances of damage that trigger the reaction, not just one big number on screen), but you could meaningfully get higher damage on Cyno in this team by using Xilonen as the fourth slot in the future especially.

Would this team work if Cyno is not on Thundering Fury? As how I understand, Cyno can still proc aggravate while also letting Emilie deal increased damage on burning enemies by letting the Dendro aura go back and forth between quicken and burning, but the reduced elemental application due to Cyno not using TF might be an issue on reliably removing the burning for a bit and proccing aggravate (Cyno has no ICD on his skill on burst mode if I remember correctly). I don't have Emilie but I am expanding my dendro roster beyond Dendro traveler and Collei so I might grab her when she reruns for new team comps if this team still works even if Cyno is not on TF

They are both on Fav lol. He has more energy than he needs, but its my preferred build because I have more than good enough damage output to vastly prefer the extra energy. If I had worse overall artifact quality or didnt have C2, maybe Id feel differently, but I enjoy this build the most with him, and I dont want to be forced to play him double electro all the time when I may often want Raiden elsewhere. If it was a normal account Id just use Fischl probably though (unless her application was too high, but theres other options there too)

For Cynos damage itself, yeah you can use other units, like Baizhu/Dendro Traveler maybe, but theres various potential problems with that, and youd just want to go down the quickbloom route with those units instead realistically. Imo Emilie really is the component here that makes this work by how compelling her off field damage contribution is

Don't take this the wrong way, but having both cyno and emilie at c2 is like 35%+ more team dps (not even taking the signature weapons in consideration). That's what is making this 45k~ dps team look like a 60k~ dps team.

since shenhe is locked in hoyo jail (and is just really niche in general), i wonder how good of an alternative xilonen is to her in cryo teams. people talk about replacing kazuha with her, but im thinking of how i can use the two together lol

They (Kazuha and Xilo) will have a little bit of lost value together (res shred does have true diminishing returns) compared to using in seperate teams. As far as comparing Xilo\Shenhe goes, thats a little bit odd to evaluate due to how Shenhes buff is a flat dmg buff, so it really varies on how much of a relative increase she is causing for a given character. For a unit like Rosaria I think Shenhe is meaningfully better (for reducing each others energy needs and Rosaria having relatively low multipliers that gain a lot from a flat dmg buff-a higher multiplier unit gains less relative value from Shenhes buff), but doing something like you mention could be better in other ways too

Cyno isn’t the strongest, but I think he’s cool/fun and he still has several teams that can 36* abyss

Man hoyo did Cyno so dirty, he has a fun personality and amazing design. I think so many more people would pull if they made him fun/good. I hope they buff him one day 🙁

Characters basically only get buffed by gaining new options for teams with new character releases in Genshin. I think they did a good job making him fun, but his energy needs are really frustrating in a way that restricts his teambuild and overall utility to most players, unfortunately. Especially relative to other on field electro units
