We had to do the rubber drive on our 9770 JD Header which failed in the paddock on the side of the hill, and of course nothing operates once that goes. The mechanic from Pringles Ag Services from Wudinna and another from Cummins arrived, and they said it would be going by the end of the day. Which he did so we could start reaping again. The hydrostatic was drained and removed with an articulated loader which worked well.

Thanks a bunch for a great video. I use to turn wrenches on construction equipment and remember this feeling when you need to replace seal you have to pull the engine out. Seal cost $20, labor cost thousands.

Zeth, I live in Ohio..I was at the farm science review today in London and they had a 1100 series JD combine on display, along with all other types of equipment. That thing is massive and an engineering marvel..it’s a huge neural network of hydraulic hoses. You guys,for sure, gotta know your stuff when working on these beasts! Great video man!!
@rogertucker66622 жыл бұрын
I did one of those seals last year but I pulled the gearcase . Definitely alot of stuff to take off but I don't know if the engine is easier or not. Did most of it by myself and then had to wait for about a month to get the new seal because they were unavailable . Mine the seal popped out of the small housing so I replaced the housing also.

How many thousand dollars did that 8 dollar seal cost to replace? Amazing that the cost of these machines and a small seal will shut them down. And people wonder why farming cost so much. Good job 👍🏻
@rcktransportinc.43122 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised you didn't check the beating play on the shaft where the seal was bad. I was always told by the elders 'what caused the seal to go bad to begin with'
