Thank you for your positive words Bert, I’ve been very down, not been blessed with a family or husband and turned 50 last week and feel a bit pointless, it’s a blessing watching your family and seeing positivity in the world ... you guys bring the Joy

One use for all those fallen tree trimmings and debree like leaves and pine needles would be to burn them on the ground that you are going to rototill so that you can partially thaw the ground that is frozen at only a foot deep. The drying time on the material is always a factor. This is especially true in the rainy season. Evaporation of the water cools the ground again.

The best memories....you never forget holding hands & those special one on one moments w/ Grandparents...You don't even realize that you are creating lifelong memories...Spent lots of time w/ all of mine & even 30+ years after losing them, I still have my awesome memories of each of them holding my hand while talking & laughing. An Invaluable, underrated & sometimes forgotten relationship that I recommend to all ( that have no type of abuse in the family )~

I loved seeing the progress on your Mom's kitchen but I especially loved seeing her excitement about it all! She was like a giddy teenager, it was so cute! WOW! Your woodpile looks great. Doesn't it give you a calming sense of accomplishment when you are able to be prepared for something important, especially something as important as heating your home for the winter.

Thanks for sharing just life. Highs, lows, and the work that is fun, too. My mom always said make work fun. Make a game of it. Helps. It is fun to go back and look at what you have accomplished after a hard task. Kinda like when you keep opening the refrigerator or closet when you finally get it cleaned out. Looks so good ya just gotta keep checking it out!!!!! Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment. And ,Bert, you can say it however you’d like....we are just happy to be part of your family life. 😊😊😊 God bless all of you.

I know you know this but I'm saying it anyway. Bert, your mom is a real gem. I had the pleasure of meeting her and your dad on several occasions. She was such a positive and "real" lady. Your dad is awesome too but I interacted more with your mom. Now that we don't live in North Pole anymore it is so fun watching your videos and "catching up" on things. I am so excited for her new kitchen and all the things you and Jessica are doing. Thanks for a positive channel. God bless!

Thanks for letting me be a part of your life! It's brought back so many great memories from when I built my country home and put in my first garden and fruit trees. Wow, the fresh fruits and veggies tasted soooooo good - not at all like grocery store flavored. Fall canning was so rewarding. I loved laying in bed at night listening to all the lids popping as the jars sealed. I think my favorite was freezer strawberry jam. Take it out, let it defrost and viola, it tasted like I was eating fresh strawberries! Love and blessings - ko - PS - Rear bladed tillers are the best. The blades dig deep into the ground, while the front tillers "hop" .

I live in southeast Florida and we have voracious Mosquitoes too! I have discovered that Johnson’s Baby Creamy Oil with Aloe Vera and vitamin E is not only good for your skin, it also keeps bugs away. No harsh chemicals, so you can use it all over your body. It's my Go To anytime I'm going to be outside. Bonus: My husband even likes it...and he's a tough sell for "scented" lotions. Also very soothing for sunburn. Hope this helps!

Lawns in Alaska seem to do ok the first year, but after that they tend to struggle. I use Scotts Turf Builder II mixed with dried organic blood meal when spreading it in a spreader. Results are a lush green lawn and no weeds. Keep away from your vegetable garden. Wear a mask when mixing! Best to wear a mask when working with some soils as well. You can research this.

the words you said at the start of the vlog was very encouraging. Me and my wife just lost 1 of our cats .He had congestive heart failure. he was in the vet hospital for 2 days then came home then we brought him back Sunday afternoon cause he was peeing blood. they told us his vital signs were good, but 10 minutes or so later they called us and said his heart stopped. they tried CPR for 10 minutes and then asked what we want to do. my wife said the best humane thing to do is to stop. It's a tough time right now, but those words at the beginning of the vlog were encouraging. keep us in your prayers if you can. thanks happy people. our kitten is survived by his brother. this happy people family is a blessing. keep smiling.

Thank you, Bert! Your words at the beginning made me tear up so much, 'cause I don't feel like my life matters in any way since a long time. I'm searching for my place and purpose in life for so long, that your words just meant the world to me. I always try my best and I also believe in God and that he will have a reason why I'm on earth, but it's hard to find out this reason, if you aren't successful somehow... not jobwise, not in your private life, not with your health ... when you fail every part in life it's hard to believe that you matter at all, 'cause you feel like you make everything worse than better. That's why your words really hit me and now I'm here, sitting in tears, just thankful that there's at least one person on earth who thinks that my presence on earth matters. Thank you so much! Stay blessed and healthy.
