Hey Lauren! I am from the Florida Panhandle! I leave my christmas decorations up until the end of January. My kids are grown so there is not any mess really. It takes so much effort and it gets so gloomy in winter that I leave it up until the chilly air is gone. I am a rare breed I know. 🥰👍

My aunt before she died last year due to Covid shared a tradition with me over the years. Before going into the new year always ensure your house is completely clean, always make sure laundry is done, you have money in your pocket and have collard green and black eyed peas. So I'm here getting the house in order before 2022

I leave all my decorations up until January 7th, January 6 is the Epiphany. I was slow to get into the Christmas spirit this year, I lost two loved ones in September, two days before my birthday, not to Covid, but very painful. I ended up having a very nice and quiet holiday. Like you with everything going on I opted to stay home and safe. I am from SE MI and we did not have a white Christmas. We got a half inch of snow yesterday and are expecting snow this afternoon and tonight, also later in the week before the New Year. We had 7.1 inches of snow in November, go figure? I will do a deep cleaning once all the Christmas decorations come down. I already started decluttering with the Christmas decorations last year. Love your videos, can’t wait to see what you do in 2022.

Our decorations also come down after the Epiphany, whatever the Saturday is after. With work, I don’t always get to it on the 7th. Since my husband loves Christmas, he’s not in the biggest hurry to take it down. 😃 We don’t put up a lot of Valentine’s decorations or Super Bowl anyway so it’s not that big of a deal.

I hope next year you can get out and enjoy friends and family. Life is too short to stay home. We had 20 people over because many of our friends had nowhere to go because their own families canceled their get-togethers. So I had a houseful and it was stressful but amazing.

We leave Christmas up for New Years, but I make sure its down by January 6 - the 12th Day of Christmas. I undecorate a room a day so it’s not overwhelming and it gives me time to return things to their proper bin.

Speaking of minimalist I did Christmas decor very sparingly. We are Empty nester so the times its just hubby and I we do not even decorate outside and smaller tree and only living room. I have had 5 back surgeries and 3 neck surgeries. So now everything is harder to do. I wish there was someone who would do a cleaning how to an schedule for cleaning. I am old and really need help. Oh well glad you had a great Christmas I am rambling and I am sure you do not want or need to know my problems. I am green with jealousy watching your energy. I love your videos thanks for sharing your time and talent. Have a Blessed New Year. Hugs Sheryl from Indiana 💙🎨💙 oh and for me Christmas comes down like a two or 3 days after Christmas. You are lovely and I appreciate you ❣

I'm from New Jersey. I leave my Christmas decorations up since it's still the season of Christmas through the Epiphany (12 Days of Christmas). Then it all goes away. I also do not decorate until closer to December 1st so it's only up for a little over a month. After seeing your lemax Christmas scene I purchased the ice skating rink and a few things for my end table. It's super cute! I do not have a lot of room so I choose carefully what I really enjoy seeing in my home. It's really nice to get things cleaned up after Christmas festivities. We went ice skating on Sunday. So much fun! We also enjoy watching movies and playing board games, going for a walk, taking a nap in between things like that!

I feel like Christmas decorating is usually meant so show an abundance of things that bring people joy and keep them merry in the colder months of the year. We are used to seeing that in photos and advertisements so it makes us think we need that in order for it to be Christmas. I went with a simpler look this year as well and felt it a bit more refreshing to have decorations without too much clutter. There is an elegance to it that shows sometimes less can be more.

We leave our decorations up well into January. We will have lots of snow by then and I truly love Christmas. We had a wonderful prime rib roast served with baked potatoes, buttered carrots, brussel sprouts, and asparagus. Dessert was supper simple. Store bought cream puffs and cookies. Wishing you and your family best wishes for a very Happy New Year! 🥳

I love your videos! I’m from Topeka, KS. We have stayed home a lot as well but my father passed away in January so I did have my mom over and I cooked a ham and potatoes and I made Orange Cranberries muffins. It was bitter sweet without him but it was so nice because I took my mom for a nice walk around the cemetery Christmas Day and we talked and watched the birds and read some of the monuments. Very sweet. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I’ll probably take a lot of my decorations down except the tree I leave up until Jan 1st. ❤️🎁🙏🏼🎊

I leave my decor up for NYE. I remove the breakable or collectible ornaments. Then I add pretty paper clock faces, party hats, and other NYE party decor in the tree. When company arrives on NYE they take out the fun decor just before midnight to celebrate. Most friends leave by 1am and I pull down the rest of the decor with the excitement of the evening. Ironically, it comes down faster this way. I also write out a list of ‘do good do better’ for the next year. This has been a game changer for me and helped me not to do any impulse decor buying the next year. I put this list in my planner in August for quick reference. I used to take everything down before January 2nd since it it my sons birthday. I always wanted his photos to seem themed only for his birthday. Now that my children are grown it reduces pressure this pressure. This year I will be keeping my decor up through the 12 days of Christmas, that was a family tradition for my family before I had my son. Thank you for all your inspiration on traditional holiday decor through the year; I really appreciate it!! Blessings and health to you and your family.

Hey from Colorado.... Lauren!! Loved seeing your gorgeous family picture of all of you in elegant dress!!! You know I love and adore your channel and how you connect to all of us in such a real and down to earth way. I would love to see a video of your favorite kitchen gadgets and appliances in your home. Also would love to see your favorite makeup/ skincare products if that works with your decorating theme. Decorating your face video! Haha. Or a quick quick makeup look. However my favorite part of todays video was when you said this " When I say my prayers every night, I say a prayer for each of you" thank you. Power of prayer is the best content there is. ♡

I celebrate Christmas thru January 6, Epiphany. The past few years my Christmas decor morphs into Winter decor as I keep the winterland theme going with some evergreen sprigs (natural looking, nothing added), deer, etc. I took a picture of a large snowy pine tree in a nearby field, printed it poster size, then cut it in half and framed as 2 - 12x36 narrow prints. It’s winter (even tho here in KC there’s barely any snow ever 😞) so it’s a cleaner more minimal decor. I love your phrase “quiet” and I’ll think if it as “ quieting my home”. Thank you!!! I use January as a time to “re -purpose/position” my items into other rooms, etc.

Hi Lauren, I’ve been watching all year and truly enjoy all of the videos. Your home is beautiful & your decorating talent is AMAZING. I live in a very small town in a 128 yr. old farm house in the middle of a corn field. The name of this cozy country town is Toluca located in central Illinois. We are about four hours south of Chicago & four hours north west from the capital Springfield. Life is slow in this sleep country town however we do have two restaurants and a breakfast shop which is opened only for breakfast a gas station and a pizza shop. We do have a little country store but for big grocery hauls we must drive into a bigger town which is an hour & a half away. We try to shop from our on going list because we only shop about once every four to six weeks. It kind of a big deal so we make a day of it by having lunch at the Dairy Queen. Keep those videos coming they are such a treat. Have an awesome New Year. God Bless.

My family just left this morning back to Texas, I live in southern California, Today Wednesday it is raining and I am tackling the upstairs bedding laundry, packing up Christmas and getting into the really deep clean while I am doing everything else. I usually like to have it all packed up and organized for the brand new year, I am finding it is taking me a lot longer to take it all down and packed up so I am guess it will not all be done before the New Year. I also cooked for many days with at least 9-11 people each night all family members. Along with three birthdays. Yes December is really a very busy year around here. I wish it was that easy to snap my fingers…. I told myself if I have to one room at a time. I have finished two room and two bathrooms so far and it is 3:00pm, It will get done , the seasons goes so fast. I would love to see hauls you do on your home decor, where you go and what you are looking for, I have a notebook I keep all my ideas in so that when I find something I can see if that will work. Thanks Lauren

On leaving Christmas decor up, it took me all month to slowly decorate my place, so I finally finished just a couple days before Christmas. I want to keep it up for as long as I want to now just enjoy it! I researched who keeps Christmas decor up longer, Dolly Parton keeps it up until her Birthday Jan 19th, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II keeps all the Christmas Decor up until she leaves her holiday Castle in February! So for me I will keep mine up until Jan 23rd, a Colorado tradition to honor the stock show that ends Jan 23rd. So that gives me almost another month of enjoying my Christmas decor! It's just myself and my kitty Violet, so it's easier for us to do that. I had a wonderful Christmas with my siblings and my 90 yr old father. My mom passed away a year ago so Christmas is more precious every year with her spirit all around us! Thank you for all of your wonderful videos! Becky

Dear Lauren So fun to prepare for the Holidays but the clean up is just around the corner waiting for us. 🙄 I am from Montreal Canada. Our rules here were rather strict due to covid and the upstream of the omicron. In our Province our limit was a max of 10 people and now after Christmas it is down to 6. I don't have issues with the restrictions for ouŕ safety but it means adjusting the way we do things. I am still going to leave out my winter decor because it is sparkly and bright. We always get a good amount of snow, so it all works with the look outside. I can't thank you enough for your constant inspiration and how you are so efficient in all you do. I am trying to implement some of your suggestions. I am also preparing to get my place better organized while I am on Christmas holidays. Once again, all the Best for the New New! I take all Santa's and put away and a few other items. But leave the tree and swags up till after new year's. Taking it all down at once is to big a job. But I like to clean it up some.

WE take ours down the week after New Years. I don't get to enjoy it to long so it will stay up until New Years. Crazy question.... What is the brand of your pots and pans, and do you like them? I am looking for new ones and noticed yours. I like them and was wondering what you thought of yours.

Happy New Year. We did a beautiful chirstmas dinner with our Pastors who are retiring and leaving the area, otherwise it was a very quiet Christmas for us here in New Zealand where it is summer. Boxing Day(26th) is our family Christmas day where we open the majority of our presents. We leave our decoration up unitl the 6th or the weekend following it.

I’m from Manitoba Canada and it’s -35 Celsius here on December 29. 🥶. I leave Christmas up intel a few days after New Year and then I do “ winter decor” with white, silver, pale blue and sea foam green. That stays until mid March or so. Great channel Lauren! 🇨🇦🎄🥳

I usually wait a week after Christmas before I take everything down. My sons are grown now. No tree anymore just a wreath and nativity scene goes up now. Those pickles are really good and crunchy! Aldi’s have them as well.

From Roanoke, VA area. When I take them down depends on the year. I really prefer to keep them up till New Year's day because I love the decor for New Year's Eve, even if it's just us. But, when I was teaching I took them down before New Year's eve so I could slow down and enjoy New Years Day with the family and enjoy being ready to go back to work with a fresh organized start to the new year! Really enjoy your videos!

I took everything down except for the tree so it gives the new year a festive look still. Much easier coming new year and just having the tree to put away.

I am from Southern Illinois and it has been warm this Christmas season...I am still waiting on snow. I actually took my decorations down today. Didn't do a lot of decorating since my husband has been struggling with migraines and I didn't want to make too much noise with decorating. I love your channel and your decorating style...Have a wonderful New Year!!!

Been in bed for 2 days with the Merry Christmas crud. Ran a fever yesterday but will go to the doctor tomorrow. Don’t think it is Covid. We hosted Christmas Eve this year and served seafood gumbo. My wonderful son took care of Christmas lunch by grilling beef tenderloin medallions which were melt in your mouth tender. Our decorations are kept up until New Years. My husband and I have been trying to get the house back in order and finish the laundry. Will be making an effort to downsize the decorations while packing everything away. Howdy from Texas!

I salute your plans to minimalize. The older I get the more I downsize and simplify. It has made my life so much better. I wish I had done it years ago when my kids were little!

Decor: you could compromise, and leave the trees up...but put everything else away to get a start on cleaning up Christmas....also just start on putting the 'little things' away, the chatchki's... so say in the kitchen, leave up the giant Santa pic, and the hot cocoa bar...but everything else put away....

I usually do a nice clean up and organize/purge before I decorate…I do a re-clean up after Christmas Day…and Take everything down New Years Day….This year I’m planning on wrapping my tree in bubble wrap…I’m not taking the ornaments off….I know it sounds so lazy…but I just can’t…I have seen a few people doing that 😬….We did a Turkey Breast verses doing the entire Turkey and it was so much easier…I’m going to do that every year…..Watching you from NJ…Northern NJ…love your style..Thank you for sharing your home with us!! ….In January I will put up winter decor….Bare trees….Also light up birch trees…and I will put fluffy…tiny white owls 🦉 in them…Snowflakes all around…I leave this decor up until Spring/Easter decor 🐥🐣🐰🌸🌼
