That's kind of the secret behind any compilation or music video made with movie footage. I posted this on one of the videos on I'm an Android but That's Ok's page and people lost their minds lol. The fact is that it's verh easy because the viewer will automatically put their own interpretation/feelings into the clip. Take just about any movie and clip out a semi-random 5 mins. Remove the audio and place in just about any song over ot and it will look good. Why? Again, the viewer's mind does all the work.

I don't think any movie better represented the "unspoken love" most people go through at some point in their lives. It's the wanting of "something more" on both sides, the chemistry is there, the look in their eyes and a million of other small things tell each other "it could be", and yet, it never does. The reasons against it are very few compared to the many for it, and yet the few gets in the way. The whys are often blunt, practical or brutal: different ages, marriages, the settings in which you meet or the fear to act upon it and make it bloom. And there you are, in love with someone you must call a friend and treat as a friend, sometimes for days or years on end, until the last time you meet and then, you won't see each other ever again. But not all of this is just bad or sad, the unspoken love often is better then the one that does bloom, as those one become "just another relationship" with all the things now revealed and the heartbreaks and the fights. Or they become the long term relationship that will be the very reason to have another "unspoken love" . So you just stay there, in this Limbo that is heartbreaking and magical and sad and wonderful all at once.

@flybeep16612 жыл бұрын
The movie is none of all that. It's not love, not much about family, tragedy it isn't and there's only slight comedic moments. If anything, the movie is about loneliness and being out of place as a person. It's about two people feeling lost and finding kinship, which is something different than love.

I'm in a roller-skating rink by myself and this song starts to play. I start swaying and skating to the beat of the music and out of nowhere the most beautiful guy enters the rink. He joins me on the floor swaying with me and life just feels like a dream. We look into each other's eyes and kiss. We leave on his motorcycle and ride off into the California sunset. Sounds silly but gives me such a happy feeling for a few minutes.

I didn't see this first time round. Didn't hear any reviews, it was off my radar and it's a movie I'd never have picked to watch back then anyway. I decided to watch it the other month because it was on a list of the top 100 movies of the last decade, and so I downloaded it. As a 40 year old guy, I think that - had my younger self watched this when it came out - I wouldn't have gotten everything from it that I did. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. What they managed to do on screen is very, very rare. And it raised my opinion of Scarlett by a few million miles, as an actress. An essential watch but, if you're young now, give it some time. Put it in your diary to watch when you're a grown up, settled into middle age and on the cusp of maturity, but not old enough to have forgotten what it was like to be young.

We always wait for tomorrow, or put off till tomorrow, and before you realise it tomorrow has become the yesterday you yearn to be today. At 59, it's so clear to me now. Live for today, for that is all we have.

Lost in translation is a subtle masterpiece of theatre. The open endedness of the conclusion is the hallmark of a literary genius. Not knowing precisely what is said allows the viewer to contemplate what may have been said and arrive at their own possible conclusions. It does not insult the viewer by spoon feeding them everything but allows them to participate and draw their own possible meaning for the story and what they have witness within the film. It makes a story that will speak to each individual differently, and possibly even the same individual differently at different points in their life.
