I actually find it refreshing for late night TV. I look at it as a combo of Whose Line ... and the old Craig Ferguson show where he made fun of CBS.

Well it's a reboot of @midnight, but the internet/mobile phone landscape has changed since then.

It’s a spinoff of @midnight, no? I haven’t seen @after midnight so that was just an assumption I made

Yes, it is VERY closely based off @midnight but a bit more intentionally targeting Gen-Z. It is also interesting because @midnight was Comedy Central but After Midnight was moved to CBS proper.

​@@LifestyledMedia it is a direct reboot of the @midnight show. They've said as much. CBS is a sister broadcast network to Comedy Central. It's the same format roughly with a lot of new fun things. The real gem is Taylor Tomlinson.

I think that the most interesting piece isn’t necessarily the show (we could probably name 100 well-written shows that target younger audiences) but what is interesting is it isn’t airing on some small channel or going straight to streaming. It is airing on CBS, and it an attempt to bring young viewers to a network that has only been reaching older audiences.

you're saying you can't repeat something and this show is new - it's a carbon copy of the version I watched a decade ago. Not complaining - both shows were great and I think they're doing a great job in the current incarnation. And you're right that it's well done and it's a smart way to draw people in to their content, and how it can be consumed. But the central thesis is literally untrue, I'm afraid.

The show is a rehash of @midnight from Comedy Central(?). So nothing new at all. The show is fun but it doesn't do anything new, or original at all. Maybe the host of this video just fancies Taylor Tomlinson, and that's the reason he made this pointless video. I don't blame him, she's hot.

I watched an older episode with Hardwick and the format/presentation was improved upon so much by CBS.

meh. This show is a less clever and less funny version of @midnight and shows on Dropout that do it MUCH, MUCH better than whatever this show is attempting to do.

If only it were actually funny. Seems a waste of Taylor Tomlinson, who I know IS funny. She doesn't really seem comfortable with the format, and I don't think it's exactly her fault.

I don't dislike Taylor but this is indeed a cringe show. All prewritten jokes to be delivered as if it's a game show. Hardly cracking the code.
