Well the big issue is that we do not know from which culture they come and if I remember correctly OP mentioned that the will was vaguely written as well. If this were happening in the USA or Europe then good luck to the affair partner, because she will be laughed out of court. If this is one of the eastern or asian countries, it could be possible. In places were family is considered more sacred then life itself weird laws exist. I personally hope that OP never has contact with her mother again. Honestly everyone but the kid is 100% the a/h. The husband for being selfish and cheating on his own wife. The mistress for not only black mailing the family, but also claiming she loved the husband when in reality she was still cheating on her own husband with a new man. Her kids for sticking by their horrible mother side and being selfish by joining the blackmailing and harassment. The husband side of the family for ignoring what the husband did just because he’s dead.
