And because of that I’m happy I’m far more laid back else I’d probably be dead or in prison for something like road rage because of how stupid people are on the road.

Fairly common for abuse victims to not realize how unreasonable their situation is. It's sad but they're often so used to having to make the best of a bad situation and to tolerating abuse that this happens. They also often just want some kind of affection or respect from the abuser who was usually in a position of power over them.

You'd be surprised how biased schools are. They're more of a blame the victim mindset.
@gallicia46133 ай бұрын
I had a kid trying to strangle me one day in school because I didn't want to give up my seat in the cafeteria. I gave him a black eye which made him stop. I almost got suspended even though several of my classmates told the principal what happened and the only reason why I didn't get suspended was because a teacher saw it too. The other kid faced no consequenses. Sometimes a principal just "judge" randomly in order to get a case dismissed as fast as possible.
@LadyZubat3 ай бұрын
This actually happens a lot especially if you get a principal that is very bias against you for whatever reason. When I was in high school my principal despised anybody that transferred into the school district for whatever reason and she treated all of us who were transfers no matter what age we transferred into the district at like garbage.
@wargreysama3 ай бұрын
I had something similar happen to me, there was this kid who always messed with me but I'd hit back, then one day he played the victim, told the principal - stupid oldfart called me into his room and started shouting - of course it didn't matter because his shouting wasn't as scary as my dad's so once he sent me away I ran outside, find the uncle who drove the school bus and asked him to call my father then I quickly told my father, let's just put this into a nice way, he tore the principal a new one then he went on to terrorize bully-wanna-be's family - when I say terrorize he simply demanded principal to call the family over there and chewed the family as well. You could hear his commanding serious roars from kilometers away, also school building was a mansion left from Ottoman Empire times so there is that. My father was a soldier and in my country you don't mess with soldiers as they belonged to the only trustworthy organization, the Armed Forces. Good days when our army was highly respected and scary.

Let's be real here for a second. If you were to take away anything from this story, it's simply this: Even if every single reddit story here on KZbin was fake, the toxic people that are portrayed in them are very fucking real. Even if the parents and the brother are fictional, there are horrible people in real life that act just like them. And yes, a fair chunk of them ARE that cartoonishly ridiculous. Real world people who are that much of toxic narcissists are just as stupid, shortsighted, and selfish as OP's family is in this story, if not worse. So don't be so quick to write all of this off, because horrible crap like this could actually happen to you or anyone you care about. Be smart. Be aware. Be vigilant. And don't let this happen for real to you or anyone you love. Don't give toxic people an inch. Because they WILL take a mile.

@@_lei_c_8138 People recounting actual events usually don't describe things in such fancy or heavy detail. This one is a blatant fake due to how the story describes all the details of emotions and excessive detail about the reactions of people, how the storyteller felt or all the tension in the air or heavy hearted yadda yadda. Someone recounting actual events usually does it more simply, or they can't fully remember how something happened so they give a basic description. So when you're listening to stories, if an event or emotion is described in way too great of detail, you can start paying attention for those excess details to determine if a story is a fake or not.

It's a very common question of 'why does the scapegoat always succeed while golden child fails' And sure this story might be creative writing but it is still common in real life for a single reason. The golden child's never challenged, never pushed to succeed. Sure parents have high expectations for them sometimes, but there's a tiny disconnect where they forget it has to be earned through work, and they already believe the golden child is perfect, and act like they've already succceeded and their mere glorious presence is the second coming of christ Meanwhile the scapegoat's not gonna have anything to fall back on. You think the parents would let them live at home in adulthood if they fail? Hell no. They push themselves to succeed because it's their only chance of a life

If this is true, wouldn't you think this would have made the parents look bad at the school? Because through the rumors, the brother admitted that the sister was mistreated, you'd think it'd raise some concern on how the parents treat them.

OP: No, we're not; you cut me off over a bs lie years ago and went complete nc. SP: You should give us your money! OP: You must have me confused with my estranged brother; you should ask your son for handouts. SP: You should do the right thing! OP: *click* A pox upon ye, shitty parents and asstroll brother!

TLDL; parents show favoritism towards brother, emotionally abused the daughter. Brother creates a rumor that the sister was abusing him physically and she was a spoiled brat. She moves in with her grandmother they become close. She goes on to be successful. She gets back in contact with parents parents are the same She exposes the lies her brother did against her, sends a cease and desist letter to them rest a family apologizes all is well with the world

Why was the message from her brother a stab to the chest? I would be ecstatic with it. Now I have written evidence he lied all that time. I would make sure every family member saw it, I would post it publicly and shame the school for suspending me, shame my friends for believing him over me. It is literally the greatest gift he ever gave her.
