The 4 camera's I use to produce my outdoor footage, are so called PTZ - P(an) T(ilt) Z(oom). Zoom, I only use on the rear camera, when I am underway. As you have seen I use the pan and tilt a lot. And in the dark they produce a great (short view) infrared image. I even can navigate in a marina at night on my cams.
Since they all are so called "IP camera's", each have an unique (hardwired) IP address (no DNS) in my network.

This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises on motorvessel Lady Liselot through The Netherlands and a little further". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat helemaal niets.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZbin) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

Seems to me that all you needed to do was SWING THE COMPASS, a task I’ve done many time. I had to turn 360 degrees to port ten 360 to stbd. Congratulations on your success. Capt John.

As the saying go's, try try try and try again. and again and again. but I am glad to hear you have now sorted the auto pilot out, One trip i spent nearly 13 hours on the wheel as we didn't have auto pilot. (very tiring). Thank you, it is always a pleasure to watch the video.

Henk, je zal zien dat de Raymarine vaker een disturb fault geeft. Het kan een kabel in de grond zijn of een iets anders wat het compass in de war brengt. Ook kunnen in het begin wat melding komen tot dat het ding gewend is. Raymarine geeft duidelijk aan dat de unit blijft leren. Zoals je nu de unit heb in geleerd is dat permanent als basis.

Nou Henk-Jan, inmiddels al je video's bekeken. "Oh, ben jij die gast", "ja ik ben die gast". Behalve dan de Sail Along's en het 360 gebeuren, maar de rest met je geleuter 😉(zullen we maar zeggen) erbij gezien. Erg vermakelijk en soms ronduit komisch! Behalve dan dat ik nu elke dag met je 'Coffeetime' ben geïnfecteerd 😂. Het huidige concept zonder alle tierelantijnen is veel leuker. Zie weer uit naar je volgende video! PS. Fijn dat de autopilot weer werkt.

In een enkel geval waarschuwt KZbin voor stalkers. "Someone is watching all your video's in a row. Be aware of stalking," maar ach, op mijn leeftijd ben ik wel wat gewend. Als je de rest van de video's ook nog moet bekijken (voor het slapen gaan is de Sail Along wellicht een optie) dan ben je nog wel even zoet. Vertel je al je vrienden over je nieuwe tijdverdrijf? Kun je samen met hen een bakkie doen en dan in koor: "Coffee time!"

Henk, You could save fuel and wear and tear by using one engine for 4? hrs. then switch. Works for us on Lake Michigan for years.

Most of the time I will cruise on just one engine. There is a Dutch reason to that: the second engine only brings 25% additional speed, but uses 100% additional fuel.

I installed 30+ ray marine flux gate compasses always below near the center of motion of the yacht and far from wiring like in the owners closet. I’d be interested in learning how closely he adjusted it to agree with the steering compass at all points that might require another dev iation table. Most owners don’t care about that simply pressing auto then +/- 10 etc.

Its an ACU300 with EV1 and even with the EV1 facing forward I get an error message of “enormous deviation problem of 177 degrees”, but… when I press [AUTO] the boat nevertheless keeps that course and does nit turn 180 degrees. The silly thing is… the previous owner had the EV1 installed in the cabinet, and it worked fine for years. I detached cables, changed positions of the gauges (nothing more) and then it would not calibrate until I brought the EV1 up to the fly. I did so because I have gauges overthere too and did not need to buy very very expensive blue network cable.

Hoi Henk, Dat was weer eens wat anders maar ook weer gezellig op de Lady Liselot en eindelijk de auto pilot werkt weer ik misten nu alleen het kopje koffie en het merg pijpje ik dacht dat gaat hij nog wel doen als beloning maar nee, nu houden we ook de woensdag in de smiezen voor een extra show
