Mud larking in winter, after storms and snow; braving the cold to find old and interesting things. I wasn't the 1st back at the big cliff face dumpsite after the winter storms, but I might have been the luckiest. It was hard going, but I had a lot of fun.

I like to imagine a granny tossing out one of those broken blue and white plates with a sigh; and her never imagining another granny in another country having a look at it, via a medium that had not yet been invented, a century later. What would she think? Lovely, brave lark and the sunset shots are breathtaking. So pleased it was fun for you. Was for me, too. Thank you.

Since I was a young girl, I would get cold drinking milk or eating ice cream, so I know a bit about cold water. I would probably have an actual heart attack if I ever tried to do a Polar Plunge, so I am NOT going to put my hand/arm into ice melt. You are stronger than I. The small buttons could be from children's clothing or doll clothes. Perhaps you could get one of Carolyn's 'grabby things' to keep your hand dry when the water is so icy. Lovely sunset.

09:20 - 09:50 As you waded through all the pottery sherds, I had a thought that I would love to fill an empty shopping bag with all those pieces, and then see what, if anything, matched, or what might be created from them. That will never happen of course, but it was lovely to think about. 😊😍

Tom, a glass tumbling video would be a treat. This stream lark was so enjoyable, love your dry humour, had some good laughs. And those finds weren’t half bad, the marbles were beauties, maybe a sign that some of us are starting to get our marbles back!? We definitely agree with you that those sunset pics, and the one with the sun reflecting in the water, stir the soul and lift one’s spirit! Wishing you the best on your holiday to Scotland.

That was an unusual spark plug. I have a Splitdorf or Mostler Vesuvius that looks similar. Early 1900s or 1910s. I've been collecting antique spark plugs for about thirty years. It's amazing how interesting something so ubiquitous and common can be when found in an archaic form or unusual colour. When viewed as a group...VERY satisfying.
