A springtime visit to an old riverside dumpsite, searching metal patches, bottle diggings, and awoodland streams for anything old and interesting... of which I found quite a lot.

Gives me such joy to have a video pop up from you, Tom. I did wonder if that scaffolding plank was kids bridging or damming the river. I have to say, no matter what else you find, there is something endlessly charming about a glass bottle stopper.

Thanks Gill, I hadn't thought of kids as a possibility, but it absolutely is. There's also a small hamlet further upstream that I'd forgotten about, so may have floated down from there. The bottle stoppers I found there were lovely glass, particularly the two mushroom topped ones. 🙂

That "brass wavy line thing" would make a great underline for a logo with "Tom Burley Mudlark" since it looks like waves! I'd have a field day if I lived near a big spilling dump like that! Lots of nice finds! I love that Ammonia bottle if you plan to pass it on 😉😂 Your channel definitely has the best theme music in my opinion. Not too jarring and suits the tone perfectly!

Sadly, don't think the ammonia bottle was still there when I last visited, but if I ever go again, I'll look out for it. I'm pretty rubbish at logos, I've tried designing them every now and then, for other people, for decades. Never had much success, but never tried to do one for myself; thanks for the suggestion, I may well give it a go. 🙂

@@tomburleigh9261 This was a brilliant video this week and those brass things depicting grape vines etc are lovely too! If you bent brass things into text and used the waves as an underline, that could work? 😂 I come up with random ideas!

You should definitely start an asmr channel, Tom!

I agree, it's not a perfect option, and I absolutely do not wish to block people out. That's a big part of why I haven't done a Patreon page yet. On the other side of things though, by not doing one, I'm potentially blocking myself from ever earning a living from video making. I haven't taken a wage yet for thousands of hours of work; putting all the income from it back into future video ingredients. One day I hope, that all this work will pay enough to pay my rent, my living costs, and for future videos.😕

You could make little incense ( cone ) burners out of the clay pipes by turning the pipes upside down with the cone lit inside them. That way some of the smoke would come out of the hole where the stem was. Hope that makes sense . I suggested that to the Northen Mud larkers too. Love to all xx

There's a slight issue with that, the glass ones were often made smaller than the bottle necks, and padded around with a ring made of cork, (which rarely survives). I've found stoppers that fit certain bottles, but they're rarely a genuine match. Vulcanite ones are different, but somehow not as fun to find. I'm glad you can enjoy my older videos too, and thank you so much for your kindness and generosity 🙂
