I highly recommend the movie "A League of Their Own" as a family movie. It's not only excellent but you could explain to the children about all the men being away at war and women stepping into new experiences because of it. A good history lesson.

Know what gets out grease stains? Dawn. I keep a small bottle in my laundry room. A drop or two, agitate it with a brush, pop it in the wash. Works every time!

Thank you Kim, I'm not the only one who washes and reuses freezer/ziplock bags. My granny taught me this as a kid, because she went through the great depression and wwll. Until she got a washer and drier in her house, she would take me to wash the clothes at the laundromat, and then would bring much of it home to hang on the line lol. I learned how to save with her, she was such a sweet person who was under appreciated. Good to see you lived after drinking water 62 day's after the filter light came on, that was funny, you always crack me up. G-d bless you and your beautiful family.

Kim, I just wanted to thank you for your videos :) I am a fellow momma of 5 tho mine are getting older now (I am 46) my kids are 17, 19, 22,23 and 25. Yes I spent all of my 20s pregnant lol! But my point of this message is to say thank you for your amazing videos. I found out in January of this year I had a huge fibroid uterus measuring the size of a 6 month pregnancy and would need to have a hysterectomy. I have NEVER had female issues in my life, never had problems getting pregnant and then this. I felt betrayed by my body, I couldn't believe I was going to lose my uterus, my babies 1st home :( I was terrified for MONTHS and your videos kept me company alot of the time

I hear you when you say that you felt like your body betrayed you. I had a hysterectomy including removal of my ovaries and tubes in January of 2023 because my body decided to just have a non-stop period, and nothing less invasive worked. I basically had my period for three years straight 😂, and even had to get a transfusion at one point because my hemoglobin was so low. Surgery was laparoscopic, and recovery time was six weeks. I was pretty low energy even past the six week mark, but I can honestly say that I wish I’d done it sooner! Our bodies have funny ways of getting what they want. Hope your recovery goes smoothly!

Hey Kim. I've never commented before, but I had to tell you that the Oreo balls are beyond amazing coated in white chocolate. When my daughter was little she called them little pieces of heaven. I know what you mean about a vacation not really being a vacation. We used to drive 7 hours to get to Maryland to stay at my inlaws for a week. A lot of nights neighbors would come over and we'd play cards. I was always the first one up so guess who got to do the dishes and clean up after like 10 adults playing cards. It was a relief to get home and just do the life thing with my husband and 2 daughters. Love watching your thrift store videos. I only have 1 thrift store in my area and with the way they've raised their prices lately I might as well go to Walmart.

Dawn Powerwash works so well at getting grease out! Just spray it on a little bit before it goes I. The washer to let it do its work then throw it in the washer

I actually had a huge farmhouse sink when we built and switched mine back to the double! When I filled it with sink water there was always those glasses that needed to be emptied and I had to take them to my bathroom. I love my double sink. Smaller? Yes. Easier? Absolutely. But you have your other sink, so you could benefit from it!

Kim, it’s the wrong time of year to start anything in the garden in your area. The best time for herbs in your area is in a winter garden. Plant around October and harvest 2-3 months later. A winter garden would probably your best bet. Research it starting with your planting zones. Donna Raleigh, NC

Kim, for grease put a few drops of Dawn (the blue one) dish soap. Let it soak for awhile, then wash.

I wanted to say the same thing. In fact, I just had to do this with my daughter's T-shirt that had movie popcorn grease all over it. I didn't notice until I had it already washed and dried. I used the Dawn (full strength, blue ) all over it, rubbed it in, dabbed a little more. I didn't add water or anything. Dropped it into the hamper. I couldn't get to it again for 2 days. Just tossed it in with everything. Yes, extra rinse cycles were made, I should have rinsed some soap out before it went into the washer. Regardless, there were no stains when I took it out of the dryer. My friend told me this trick, that it can even work on old oil stains. So far, it's been worth trying every time I notice one.

Kim, if you have greasy things for the laundry, pour 1 cup of purple power in with your detergent, and wash, works every time. You can get purple power at Auto Zone, Advance Auto , etc, probably even Walmart.

Dawn detergent is great for grease stains.

At a sink, (1) get a heavy oil out with a light oil (3 in-one). Use the light weight oil just like it was dish soap. (2) Then use dish soap to get the light weight oil out. (3) Rinse until all dishsoap is gone. This might take awhile. Then wash normally. You may have to use some elbow grease, but this method is sound chemically. My chemical engineer hubby shared this information with me.

Yes on the open vessel kitchen sink. We changed ours out last year. They are much cheaper on Amazon than from the big box stores. A few hours later I had the sink of my dreams. Will never go back. I LOVE bathing my toddler in it so I don’t have to bend over. 🤣

I cracked up when you emptied the vacuum. Mine has a bag, and I was emptying it yesterday because my son thought he’d vacuumed up a MegaBlox figure. It turned out that he’d vacuumed up an adapter for his mouse, but the stuff in that bag was ridiculous. You probably know this already…… but Panera donates everything left over at close of business to local food banks, etc. Our church participated in this program. My husband and I picked up on Friday night and took back to the church to divide it between 3 different places. There would be bags of bagels, cookies, bread…everything that Panera serves.

Replacing your sink would be fairly easy. Just measure and find the right one for that space and then up underneath your sink inside the cabinet there are probably supports holding in the sink. Just release those and the silicone and all of the connections and stuff and put the new one in the same way but in reverse :)

To replace your sink they need to remove the counter also. Since your countertops over lap the sinks edge. But I refer the double sink. Because you can have clean drying on one side and dirty in the other instead of dirty touching clean and getting them dirty. But maybe you could get ones that’s little deeper.

When my husband gets his clothes greasy I use dawn power wash and use that as a pretreat...works like a charm! I don't throw it in the dryer until I know its out just to be safe!
