In my video, 2 places are missing, removing door panel and changing the cup on the tail gate. Actually I was taking the video, but forgot push the record button.....

Not really necessary to record it. It was pretty straight forward. I didn't have to buy nuts for the 10mm bolts either as they screwed right in to the hatch. I did have a problem when i plugged in power to the unit. A constant beeping sound was on. It turns out, i just unplugged the clip going into the hatch lock and reinserted. It seems that reset it. Working like a charm now. Thanks again! One modification i wish could be done like this is the blind spot monitoring for the mirrors.

The long beeping sound is initialization remind. All you need to do is manually close the lift gate. BSM is very pricy. I've found aftermarket BSM, which uses millimeter bsm sensors (not cheap sensors like parking sensors). Total cost include ship to US will be over $600. Installation is difficult. The difficult is running wires through side view mirror. I've done that when I install arrow turn signals (see my video). I'll not do that again. In your video you say that the unit must be connected to the OBD port. My package did not come with any way to do that and NO instructions about how to do it! It works fine with the buttons in the car but no Key Fob activation. Can you explain how you did yours. Thanks

Nice work. Great video but, I feel that the door is slamming a bit too hard. Can adjustments be made to the struts to lower the gate slower? Is this kit made for a 2011 Toyota Venza?

This is the 2nd gen. product. The 3rd gen added soft closing feature. The 4th gen will be available very soon. It adds nice features -- foot-activated function & suction lock.

Hi, I recently became paralyzed and cannot stand to open the trunk of my 2013 Rav4LE. I was given a quote by a local company that the parts would cost $1000 and labor $500. Any ideas what other type of companies might do this type of installation? The dealer where I purchased my Toyoto won’t. Two companies that make cars wheelchair accessible doesn’t do this type of work. I’m stumped. If this guy can do it why should it be so expensive. Thanks for any ideas.

You can buy the installation kit from manufacturer directly. Total cost should be about $500. Installation could be 3-4 hours. I finished installation in 2 hours, but I used another 2 hours to prepare. If $150/hour, installation cost will be (at least) $300. So $800 include installation should be good deal.
