Oh heck no, these prices are infuriating to me. I went to England once to visit family and tea and scones were never that expensive. It’s outrageous, over 60$ for tiny sandwiches and tea just isn’t fair, even if it does take time to make.

I've had high tea with 3 friends and it only cost $60. We had 4 finger sandwiches, a macaron, a milkshake, a cup of tea with free refils, 2 cookies, 2 pastries one savory one sweet, 2 fully loaded savory cracker things, a piece of cake and few mint candies EACH. So $15 per person and it was all delicious

@@fatimascrying yeah, it’s a special grade of whipping cream that has a higher butterfat content than regular whipping cream that usually only places like restaurants and bakeries use. It produces a more firm and stable whipped cream which is useful for places like bakeries. I didn’t know what it was either until I saw it at Costco one time. I was lucky to be treated to fancy high tea in one of Chicago's historic hotels. They do it a lot and the menu and tea selection is amazing. The venue was absolutely breathtaking and the bathrooms are the fanciest public bathrooms I've ever been in. Each stall has its own toilet, sink, toiletries, it's basically a big dressing room, all for each person. The teas are imported from all over and really run the gamut, you can try all different kinds, the amount of food will get you full despite the fact they're tiny finger sandwiches and pastries, and everyone is so sweet. Everything is made by trained chefs and it's so fun, even children are allowed in. It's only $65 and you leave fully satisfied and blown away!

I've never actually heard the term friend date till now. That's not a bad term, we just typically call it hangin out. Anyway we usually either eat fast food, the local Mexican place, or on occasion we head to the neat Japanese restaurant in the other town. I've never spent more than 50 bucks on any of these occasions. Although we do sometimes go to Longhorns, although that's not too common.
