I am from Bavaria, but I love Britain!! :-)
Why Miss Anglophilia?
At the age of ten, I had my first encounter with the English language at school. My teacher never tired of telling us inspirational stories about culture “on the island”. And that was it - I fell in love with it all! So Miss Anglophilia is me and it has been for many years.
Is this just about England?
As for me, it all started with England which we were taught a lot about at school. I was lucky enough to live in England for a little while during my university years. There, I got to know many lovely people - not only English, but also Scottish, Welsh and Irish. So for me, “anglophilia” doesn’t stop at the English borders.

Thank you so much! The pattern was an original pattern from the 50s and a very kind lady made the dress for me. I got to choose the fabric and went for light blue, that's one of my favourite colours! When it comes to clothing, I really love vintage vibes! :)

Hi ! A perfect day out ! What a beautiful setting, castle and grounds, I see the English influence in the landscaping and planting. All the traditional elements of a proper picnic are there, presents and correct ! Triangular sandwiches sitting up the way, Scottish blend tea and a Cornish Pasty 👍. We have arranged a picnic with a couple of friends for Friday afternoon, on the garden lawn, behind our house by the woods. Hope the weather holds !! Cheers, Don 👋

An update : Our back garden, socially distanced, picnic worked so well !! We finished up doing one in the morning, then a second in the afternoon with a different couple of friends !! The weather was kind to us 😎

I didn't know you were a "tree hugger". What a lovely setting for a picnic. The castle is beautiful and the moat really ads to the romance. I liked the little balcony high up in the tower next to the sundial and the chimney that's a castle tower in miniature.

I agree, the little balcony is very sweet! It would be so much fun to visit the inside of the castle, but unfortunately that's not possible. I'm sure there would be so many stunning features inside!

@@MissAnglophilia yes sometimes the only way to see a private castle is to get injured on the grounds. My mum broke her ankle at a castle near her when she fell off the ha-ha in the dark (the castle was hosting a Guy Fawkes night mit feuerwerk). The owner, of course, didn't want to be sued and so they covered her medical costs and gave her a private tour of the castle.

A lovely castle setting for a traditional picnic, seems like a great plan. It reminds me of when I was growing up in England, and those very rare times where we would go for a picnic along the River Thames in a place called Lechlade!! I would probably swap the lemon cake and the carrot cake for a slice of Battenberg myself, but each to their own ;) Oh, a little surprise as well, some tree hugging 🌲🤗 Oh that sundial looks wonderful, what a bonus. That is a nice image as you are sat on the tree eating a Cornish Pasty. Do you know the history of Pasty's by the way? It is an interesting topic to learn about in relation to Miners.

How elegant! No crusts: really posh sandwiches! Just raw wild garlic blended into butter? Nice place to visit. I haven't spotted white wood anemones flowering here yet but perhaps I've been in the wrong places. Hopefully more frequent picnics for us all from now on. :)

They really do look nicer without the crust, don't they? (But I'll eat the crust anyway, haha...!) Yes, the wild garlic was raw, then blended into butter - easy! I also love wild garlic soup. :)

Looks nice. I think you would enjoy a traditional English cricket tea. I have to take issue with your cup of tea though!! Far too much milk and weak for my taste - I have my tea nice and strong a definite tan / brown colour.

Haha, well observed! ;) People often joke about my beverages, they say that I don't drink coffee with milk but rather coffee flavoured milk and the same with tea. ;) I do agree, it was a bit much milk in there, even for my taste! I didn't have a milk jug with me and the bottle was a bit tricky to handle, too much milk came out. :) :) :)
