Today I show you my home region: Lower Bavaria. We're going to cruise around, have a Bavarian picnic and explore an abandoned building. Next to it I made made a shocking discovery! Lucky I found a nice castle on my way home to recover from it. :-)

Where are you from?
- I love Britain, but I am really from Bavaria. Some of you requested to see more of my home region, so I was happy to oblige. :-)
Why Miss Anglophilia?
- At the age of ten, I had my first encounter with the English language at school. My teacher never tired of telling us inspirational stories about culture “on the island”. And that was it - I fell in love with it all! So Miss Anglophilia is me and it has been for many years.
Anglophilia? So, is this channel just about England?
- As for me, it all started with England which we were taught a lot about at school. I was lucky enough to live in England for a little while during my university years. There, I got to know many lovely people - not only English, but also Scottish, Welsh and Irish. So for me, “anglophilia” doesn’t stop at the English borders.

The perfect Bavarian Picnic in the gorgeous Bavarian countryside! Erdepfekaas is an absolute favourite of mine! On a fresh slice of bread and some chives, delicious! Hard to believe that in other parts of Bavaria this culinary gem is not really known! 🤷🏼‍♀️ The only thing you could add, to make it even more Bavarian, would be a nice cold "Radler" ... 😉🍻

You are right of course! In fact, there really was a bottle of beer that came with this "Volksfest Paket" but I was driving of course, and you know that I don't really drink beer anyway... ;)

Lower Bavaria is very beautiful, you certainly had a good adventure, discovered some interesting historic locations. If my plans of a trip to Europe take place, then I do expect to visit Passau. My goal is to stay in Bratislava for the most part, but I will simply have to visit Germany if I am so close to it. Do you know what, I actually had no idea about Bavarian pretzels, but as they are a staple of New York I am going to have to read up on them now. I am going to guess that German immigrants brought them over to America with them. I just paused your video, that is exactly what happened, German immigrants introduced the pretzel to New York so I have learned one new thing for the day 😀 Oh my, that rhubarb merengue cake looks delicious as well. I used to love rhubarb crumble when I was a kid. Oh wow, what an interesting find that statue is at the top of the hill. Standing atop the remains of 640 Bavarians, what an amazing discovery!! oh yes, please do - Passau is very charming, you'll love it! Its famous for its three rivers. Beautiful to look at, but also dangerous if they carry too much water. :) Yes I was thinking the same, glad you read up on that! @@david-lt9wj That sounds familiar! I like the one at Regensburg, and it's also usually packed (during non-pandemic times). You can buy a roll with sausage there which is half a metre long (well, that's how it's advertised) - so if you are REALLY hungry, you know where to go! ;)

Ja, "ticks" (Zecken) haben wir auch, wir sind da ein Hoch-Risiko-Gebiet. Die meisten Leute sind gegen Zecken geimpft, es gibt Sprays gegen Zecken und nach einem Tag im Grünen muss man ganz genau nachschauen, ob man nicht eine Zecke dran hat (z.B. in der Kniekehle).
