Nothing lasts, but nothing ends either. There's only a constant state of transformation. Beautiful talk!
@innerspaceways3 жыл бұрын
Clickity, I find this powerful insight inspiring but not completely satisfying (yes, I confess that I am looking for some kind of actionable answer). For my own journey (and maybe for others, too), it would be so helpful to hear how you understand this to be a solution for what vexes us as a collective & for transforming our societies. (This is meant in a very genuine, inquisitive way --- and not at all to detract from the power of Terence's wisdom). :)
@liamlieblein63753 жыл бұрын
@@innerspaceways Perhaps I can give you my interpretation of this idea, in a way which suggests something personal. Nothing lasts and nothing ends can be seen as synonymous, and the full scope of this idea can only be understood in the context of what 'end' truly means. The idea of an end as a telos, as Aristotle understood it, was as a for-the-sake-of-which all things before led to it. For example, the end of me brushing my teeth is having healthy teeth; this is the reason, the for-the-sake-of-which, I brush my teeth. Typically, when we reach an end, we feel that there should be a kind of completion. In some cases, this is trivially true. When I reach the end of my travel to work, my journey is complete. But in truth, that journey was embedded in a larger end, to make money, which was embedded in a larger end, to have power to do what I want in the world, which is embedded in a larger end, to achieve my ideal life. It is this final end which I believe is at the crux of all human beings. Each of us are living our lives in an attempt to achieve some kind of perfection, the ideal end we are striving for. Such an end can never truly be completed, there will always be something more that could be done to make it more perfect. Further, in perfecting ones life, one may find that their ideal changes, as new things become encompassed and incorporated under it. All of this is not to say that it is pointless to strive for this ideal - far from it. In fact, I think the recognition of this is important to consider when contemplating what death truly is. Sleep is the cousin of death. When we sleep, we dream. When we dream, we live out idealized scenarios, constantly transforming into new idealized spaces of different concepts of what a life could be. Death releases us from life, a life where we toil away to find what our true perfection is. In death, we then live out all our dreams, using the culmination of these ideals to form a new life. On and on it goes. What this means is that we should be using our lives to courageously strive for our ideals such that we may approach perfection as closely as we can. Once we die, we will live out the life we have imagined while within life. The same is true for a collective level too. The death of a civilization to produce new life. In terms of practicality, I believe this is a tool both to calm you down and to put you on the path to improvement. It calms one to know that this too shall pass, and so no mistakes are permanent. All the same, if you continually repeat your mistakes, nothing ends, so you will continually torment yourself. As such, you should be constantly seeking your own self improvement. Start by assessing what it is you find ideal or perfect in this existence. What is your true beauty? Align the rest of your life around that, live it, then reassess and repeat. Hope this helps. Peace and love.

I want Terence Mckenna. If you have something that you really want in your life, spend lots of time thinking about it. The more you think the more ideas will pop up the more creative your gonna start to get. Your subconscious mind doesn't care if your vision is crazy. It doesnt care if you dont know how to do it. When you see a thing clearly in your mind, your creative "success mechanism" within you takes over and does the job much better than you could do it by conscious effort or willpower. A different psychedelic from a different planet every nanosecond. All sorts of dreams are possible. The human nervous system cannot tell the difference between an "actual" experience and an experience imagined vividly and in detail. Synthesize "experience," to literally create experience, and control it, in the laboratory of our minds. A vision is a very emotional image, the most powerful image that you can come up with for yourself at this time. This vision will become like a hallucination in other peoples mind and this could be the cause of them creating extraordinary things.

I saw so many of these truths echoed by Alan Watts, Ram Dass, Terence McKenna, metaphorically in all the religious books, and so on come to me from within during many psychodelic sessions of deep thought years ago when I used to trip. With every trip came more clarity and revelatious epiphanies that at first left me feeling like I was crazy because what I saw was so undeniably real, and I don't believe to this day was drug induced. As years go by and you fall back into the story of your life, you begin to question the realness of those experiences. But as I started to meet more and more people who went inside and had the exact same revelations, you can't help but to think, "If other people can see the same thing that has come from within that I saw, then how can it not be real." So when in this video Terence mentions how, "...masses of human beings talking about getting in touch with the spirt... means we are very, very close to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it's a radiance the meaning and depth of which cannot be told, we being born into a higher dimension," it resonates with me because we are witnessing more and more people waking up; if everyone finally wakes up to the same light, then it only makes sense to me and from what he is saying that source becomes one again. So everything IS as it should be. Thanks Mark for bringing visual and cognitive clarity to these important existential topics, as well as exposing these great thinkers to so many viewers. Verbal conversations alone get lost and spiral out of control as we all know with these heady topics. You're hitting the nail perfectly right on the head!

This one hit real hard. It's that💡 moment. When I say that I mean I, my physical self, spiritual self, the all connectiveness simultaneously understood it across the same spectrum in a communicative good way. I personally do not have any memory of life up until I was 4 years of age. Before then the only memory I had was me being in the womb. Now I don't k or how I know this but I can remember that first memory so vividly. I didn't see how we traditionally see here as our grown up selves with eyes and all of our other senses working together. I knew I was in a place where I was free-floating. Direction did not exist here and at all times I was in the right direction. I did not crave nor did I need anything because every concept imaginable that I know now did not exists there, but I was very well taken care of, time did not pass for me the same as it does now as a human adult. I was in a perfect harmony as close to perfection can exist and as close as to harmony ever was. It was just me in there. I didn't know things like evil or love, but everything like this After Skool special explains about the before birthing process I somehow experienced before I was born. I dont remember my birth, and I have no memory of what happened from when I was birthed till 4 years of age. But some how I was left with the memory of the before life. I have never been able to connect with someone on this level. This is why I am shook to the core. Because when something unique happens in your life and you can't relate you feel crazy, but then something like this video is made and that all changes forever....🤯

Out there, everything works in a way it should. If you think about it, Terrence had to take Psychedelics and spread his words to millions of people over time even after he was gone. Little sparks here and there.. and our quest to search for answers literally pushes events in our own lives to stumble upon answers in the most un expected sources. Three years ago, I was very very different person. I still thought the universe was wonderful but there was a puzzle missing and I didn’t know if a puzzle was actually missing. Until, small events started pushing me to open my eyes. I had fallen in love with someone and it didn’t go so well, I got so depressed and started questioning life. At the time I didn’t know that I was being pulled to think outside the box. One day I stopped asking questions about life through depression, and started asking questions about life, through curiosity. And when the pandemic hit, I had so much time to free fall and just think, stumbled upon extraordinary information about psychedelics and Terrence suddenly appeared. I listened to other people as well, because I always like to see different perspective of the same topic. I started looking up NDE’s in contrast with psychedelics together with religion tales and beliefs, and science. I realized there are pieces that if our together correctly prints out the bigger picture. And I don’t know how they connect all together and in what way, but they surely have to. My first love had a bad heart. I'd listen to it skip beats and flutter when she slept. She always told me not to get too attached to her, that she was gonna be gone soon. Decade have passed and I cannot see people as anything but skeletons. It is terrible to see a loved one already dead. It didn't do any good for me. It just made life precarious. We cannot return to innocence.

Despite 7 years in the NYC 911 system as a Paramedic, and despite some occasionally gnarly PTSD, Death- both my own and that of those around me- is the only sure thing and one Hell of a gift to an eternal being crammed into a 3D meat bag. There is no Death. We are already Dead and born again into the perpetual Grace of the moment that is our entire life. Inspiration, expiration.

I can’t find the exact words to express this as it just came while I read, but I’ll try. Be on the lookout for a baby bird/squirrel fallen from a nest or a very young abandoned kitten that needs hand feeding every few hours around the clock. You will feel like you can’t take it on, but when you do you will be forever changed. Your outlook on life, your purpose and other beings. God bless. 🙏

I am so sorry your heart must bear this great burden, it is no wonder it weighs heavy on your soul. Your innocence may be lost, but the purity it contained can always be recovered. There is still beauty in this world for you, but you do have to reach out to receive it. This can be hard when you've been burned as you have. Why reach out if strife is all I will receive for my love? The only thing you can do in situations such as this is confront your feelings. Find time to speak with yourself, truly speak with yourself, and let out all you anger, frustration, sadness, sorrow, and pain. Expose it to the light of your awareness instead of letting it fester in the dark of your mind. Only then will you be able to restore purity to the world again, and give you courage to reach out once more. I wish you the best of luck, fellow traveler. This life we live is an arduous one, but the fruits of our labors will be regifted tenfold, in this life or the next. God bless you.

"The Shamans... among us, and as a goal for each of us, must act as the midwives to a new order of existence. There is no going back." Thank you Terence for this perspective on the future of humanity. Marshall Vian Summers poses another perspective that aligns to some degree with yours. He poses in his book The New World: 'This is a time of great shock and dismay, but it is also a time of great clarification, a time when your true calling will emerge from the world... This is a time when humanity has to grow up... to face a new and rising set of circumstances that will challenge the intention, the integrity and the will to live.' What if the birth process we are going through is to prepare us to take on adult responsibilities (shamans of super ordinate knowledge) in a changed world, not an escape from the world, but a willingness to 'navigate this new world and to bring forth your true gifts...Do not ask God to save the world, for God has sent you and others into the world to save the world. You do not know how to do this really if you are honest and humble within yourself. It is a matter for Knowledge to guide you step by step.' (MVS, The New World)

I would argue they are not mutually exclusive. Confront. Hold accountable. History repeats all at once. It’s all perfectly perfect. We all go home to the infinite. We are all we. And it’s all ok. It's always interesting that every generation or era thinks they are on the precipice of the end of life as we know it, be it in ancient philosophy, mediaeval, renaissance, or modern. It probably just proves that Terence and Heraclitus are right to a point. You can't stand in the same river twice. Life will never be the same tomorrow as it was yesterday. There is no end of life as we know it as a collective because each person, across the span of the generations has a unique all their own. I guess?

This gem is a perfect end to the spiritual growth I felt on 450ug celebrating 20yrs of LSD use tonight and my realisations relating to the incredible awakening I've experienced with the aid of these brilliant mind tools. It's been nice witnessing what's currently going on, as more and more people awaken to accept the fact we passed the point of no return many generations ago. As spoken by this shamanic poet nearly 30 years ago, we must live in the moment, ascend and accept our fate.

Recapitulation has been disproven, sorry Terence. It doesn’t detract from your thesis. Every embryo is unique to its ontogeny. We do not move through evolutionary stages as embryos. We are unique as embryos as is every other life form. Recapitulation was based on observation that structures appeared to resemble gills of a fish for example. Those observations were wrong. See Erich Blechschmidt if interested

Do not give up. If life seems too heavy, take it day by day. If the day is too heavy, take it minute by minute. If the minute is too heavy, take it second by second. The greatest value in life is knowing that you loved and were willing to die to keep the love going. As for the resurrection that can only happen if the truth has set us free. We are the building block our children can add too, if they understand why the old ways were special, why their God given rights must be preserved to stop the coveting of the ones who have the selfish desire to rule over others. There is love and there is selfishness, as we grow we should learn to look out for others as much as we look out for ourselves. Sadly there is much denial over who we are and what our place and purpose in life is. Human was created in the image of God, and were made a team that has to learn to work together. One leads, protects and provides, the other nurtures and manipulates what is provided for the good of the family. The leader is out and while providing also makes sure the community is healthy and secure. Servant leadership is done in love. Humans had a simple chore, care for each other and care for their home. But somehow, greed and coveting for power and fame and hoarding things without understanding that dead leaves you with what you are born with. Walk humbly with your Creator because love is the only way to prosperity, health and happiness. Now my friend lay off the psychedelics'.
@AuntamedWolf3 жыл бұрын
