I don't see any other player at Anand's age competing like him. Pure legend. Man gets into top 10 from time to time without even playing.

You seem to forget . GM Kramnik was a World Champion. Best in the World. A few trendy news headlines you are so eager to get with have made you disrespect one of the Greatest players of your lifetime. He is guilty of being a human who can make mistakes, what about you ?

Moving the rook from b2 to a2 is one of those grandmaster mistakes. No 2000 rated Player would ever do this, everyone would think that rooks out of play forever, thats suicidal. But 2700s suddenly think they can play stuff like that lmao
@michaelmassaro4375
@michaelmassaro4375 2 сағат бұрын
Ra2 was only a temporary move from Anand he did give up the open file by moving his Rook to a2 from b2 because he wanted to go after the c3 pawn which in this game was a mistake

Anand was almost beaten by an IM streamer girl recently, i couldn't recall the name.
@_sayan_roy_
@_sayan_roy_ 36 минут бұрын
@@elakstein "Almost beaten" is nothing in a good day of yours and bad day of theirs, and after a certain beginner level. I almost held on my own till the end of the middlegame and got praise from an IM against a match I played against him, and I didn't even play chess regularly (I, in fact, started then after a long while after playing amateurishly without training with my father in my childhood). So, with good enough skills, you can do something in a low stake game against a top player. Magnus lost a game in a chess park against a KZbinr as well. Gotham beat Nepo recently. If I'm thinking about the same video you are thinking about, then although it went to the endgame, Anand beat that streamer girl casually while conversing on his own time.

Its like andy roddick used to say about roger federer. Theres no rivalry if you get spanked every time. Magnus has never had a problem against anand so its not really a rivalry in my view.

Bad comparison since Roddick and Federer were peers. Anand lost his championship title to Magnus when Anand was around 43. At that age, chess players do not retain their world championship titles anyways in general, whether they are in top of all time or not. And Anand had to face arguably the GOAT in his prime. It's like saying Nadal will be getting clapped by Alcaraz now everytime so there is no rivalry, even though both are playing. Although this is not completely analogous since Nadal's level in tennis is higher than Alcaraz in general but it still makes the point not to use the word "clapping" when the players are not same age groups. Yes, Magnus has a higher level than Anand but if they met in their peaks, Anand would have had a bigger head to head record against Magnus than what he has now. If you debate this, then improve your critical thinking or chess knowledge. There is no rivalry but not for the reason you said it is, at least, not in the way you put it. Also, remember Anand performed really well the last GCL and recently won a game against Hikaru with black in a faster time control match, which is incredible considering his age, and was the top 10 in the world for most of the year which again considering his age is wild. I think after he joined FIDE, he almost semi retired this year and has been performing at a 2700 level rather than 2750 and above.

Vishy at this age is anyways considerably weaker than Magnus and has been for a long time. They have around 22 years gap of age. That's a lot. Vishy would perform well against Magnus if they both were peers and with same available resources of their time. By well, I don't mean, have a better head to head record necessarily but better record than what Vishy now has against Magnus.

@@prerakdoshi2774 No. Carlsen is light years ahead of the best Anand (2009) and has always or almost always beaten him. But the worst thing is that he always gives him terrible lessons in strategy, endgames, tactics, openings and imagination. That is the reality, so don't get moralistic or judgmental.
@_sayan_roy_
@_sayan_roy_ 15 минут бұрын
@@luckyWaiting What a stupid comment. You cannot compare different generations like that. Anand 2009 did not grow up with engine lines and with Kasparov as a trainer like Magnus mid 2010s. Anand adopted it but did not train with it in his formational training. You cannot compare different generations like that. And even if you do, you have shown your low IQ by using he term "light years ahead". Nobody in the chess world history can be light years ahead of a 5 time World Champion, even if they are better. Vishy at this age is considerably weaker than Magnus and has been for a long time. They have around 22 years gap of age. That's a lot. Vishy would perform well against Magnus if they both were peers and with same available resources of their time. By well, I don't mean, have a better head to head record necessarily but better record than what Vishy now has against Magnus.
