At the first sight im in love with chess,i already knew when i choose tal as my fav GM (coz the mezmerizing attacking skill) later in this (Tal-Botvinik episode) i realized Tal also the gentleman who love challenge and the man with the principe "i must different from another people" (well the last one just my opinion) ah.... if Mikhail Tal keep alive till at age 76 (like hawking) maybe i can shake his hand and admire him as my role models life,Love u Tal from Indonesia😙😙

Unfortunately The Magician of Riga didn't take very good care of himself, and we lost him in 1992. A real shame, and a great lose to the game.

Micky Mantle said "If id known id live this long, id have taken better care of myself" I think Tal probably had similar thoughts. But The Magician from Riga left us many wonderful games to learn from, his style wasn't always precise, and was often complicated, but he attacked like no other. And much like Fischer must have been an incredible opponent to face over the board. Personally one of my favorite Tal games is the Drowning Hippo, should check it out if you haven't seen it already.

What a great series. I love the Capablanca series but there is something brave and fearless how Tal consistently forces more and more complications and consistently comes out ahead. That rook e5 was a brilliant barricade, it made the Queen into a lost puppy dog and stifled any momentum Botvinnik had. Another masterpiece.

Watched too many of talsl's games, I tried to analyze his moves, but came up with nothing, unpredictable and fearless... Even if you think tal made a mistake, later on, it becomes an opening to a greater attack... Amazingly beautiful games by Tal, I learned a lot from this genius 👍👍 I know I will miserably lose too many games against Tal, but still, playing against him would have made me a better player... Thank you bro for the videos, they are not only entertaining, but also educational

Thanks! Question: when was Botvinnik *_not_* in severe time trouble? This seems to me to be a main theme in this match. Although Botvinnik was considered the better preparer, Tal clearly did his homework. And although Botvinnik was considered the better endgame player, Tal was no slouch here either. Tal was able to play both quickly enough and precisely enough that Botvinnik seems to have been in time trouble in most of these games at the 40 move mark. In the end, it seems this was a match where a younger player with slightly newer, better, more flexible ideas beat an older champion just past his prime, who had one too many idiosyncrasies. Thanks again. Rikki Tikki.

This game is similar to the last one of Karpov - Kasparov in Sevilla Match. The tactical player that changes the match strategy against the solid positonal player, playing a positonal opening with a slow pieces development. And striking the board with the tactical struck in the precise moment.

One of the main reasons I love watching Tal's games is because he plays just like the way I play. Creating complications and trying to come on top. Granted I rarly do come on top, I still enjoy that 1 minute (on 5m blitz games) my opponent spends to find what his next move will be after I do something Tal like. Although I lack the intellect, the skills and the knowledge to even compare with Tal, seeing him play this moves just makes something in me go 'WOW'.
