If you lose, it was a blunder. If you win, it was a sacrifice :-)
@maxkho00
@maxkho00 4 жыл бұрын
@@jrd33 There was this one time when I played an NM (I am currently rated 1400) and he, like NMs do, trapped my queen. Of course, I completely overlooked the threat of my queen getting trapped, but I did manage to squeeze two knights out of the position and, additionally, get a monster outpost for a knight of my own. Funnily enough, since the position was so closed, the loss of my queen didn't affect the gameplay at all (the queen was trapped on the queenside, while my upcoming attack was on the kingside), but it was eventually my knight that played a crucial role in my eventual checkmate of the NM. At the time, I thought that I had blundered my queen, but it eventually "turned" into a sacrifice. Moral of the story: if you blunder a piece, just play on, because if you go on to win you can claim that this was the plan all along :p

@@maxkho00 Well it makes sense. 9/10 we don't want to lose our queen. But if we're going to lose our queen, we gain the privilege of doing a huge amount of damage with it before it dies. So normally you're trading the piece for tempo or a good position. Not only do you get to attack whereever you want now but your opponent is forced to take the Queen afterwards, giving you the follow-up attack.

Carlsen is Carlsen. Seen him win games with 1 pawn so many times, it's almost a standard for him. Beautiful really. Winning the game with the weakest piece in it. Shows that in the hands of a master a stick can be deadlier than a sword.

#Suggestion there are many interesting stories about Bobby Fischer in these tournaments. Likewise in '67 tournament he quarrelled with organisers nd got banned from the tournament; and many more awkward stories about him. He had spoken many ambitious quotes after games or at different times. I would #request you to tell few short stories of him or some of his ambitious quotes related to these tournaments. U may add these stories in Ur videos. Or if the story is big enough then u can make a #separate_video of his stories. We don't care about the length of those vdos, as they are interesting. Many people reported about the big intro in ur first vdo. But I enjoyed, it increased my vast knowledge. So if there are more stories, plz include them. ♥️ Ur channel

Shouldn't speak ill of the dead, especially if it's just to entertain you. Stories, exaggerations, recollections, half-truths, myths, legends. Many of which can't be verified or defended by Bobby Fischer. Seems you would just like to "dig up the dirt" on Bobby Fischer just for your entertainment.

It’s not a mistake. “En passant is a move in chess. It is a special pawn capture that can only occur immediately after a pawn makes a move of two squares from its starting square, and it could have been captured by an enemy pawn had it advanced only one square”

I dont think the knight-move at 6.06 is so wierd, the bishop moved away to let whites knight have a good square to advance too, and knight to e5, negates that tempo, forcing at trade when he is up material is good.

Great game. Carlsen is a Knight master. If you want to defeat him, always take away his Knights, he always comes out with some nonlinear line with them.

I just want to quickly say how much i appreciate and love your account. It’s so informative and useful for chess players of any elo and even entertaining for people who know very little about chess. The way you recap the games, explore different lines, and offer your analysis on the moves is very insightful and very useful. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these videos, they are very much appreciated and you are very much loved!

I am so happy I found this channel. I have been sick for two weeks with flu and thought I might learn chess to at least get something out of it. One thing I have learned is never give up! You never know when your opponent might make a mistake. I am learning so much and it is a lot of fun to watch and listen to the commentary. Thank you for the effort you put in to making chess accessible to amateurs like myself.

11:32 Qxf5 Rxf5 , Kxf5, Kg2 Kxe6? Can Black get back to a8 in time (after trading the last kingside pawn for one of White's last two)? It's essentially the same thing that happened except White's K is on h2 instead of g1...not sure if it will matter, but it does seem to complicate the f4 push.

Well.. You say that it was super duper draw.. But I actually preferred white, I mean, white was much easier to play than black.. And Carlsen played probably as perfectly as an engine would have played. But those two pawns more, soon becoming three, were a big thing to me. Probably Navarra went wrong or not perfect here and there, but I'm sure he had a much more difficult task than white
