Black could offer a Queen trade that leads into the escape of the rook from white. If black moves his King the rook could move away after this too? That's why I can't really understand why capturing the Knight on d3 is the best move. :/
@ushiman6 жыл бұрын
I think Carlsen missed a checkmate earlier when Black played rook from f8 to e8 attacking his knight on e4, Carlsen played f3 to protect the knight. What if he had taken the bishop on g5 with his knight instead? h6 is pinned, so only way to recapture is via f6 takes g5 and then rook from h1 takes h6 checkmate because white bishop controls g8 and g7 pawn is pinned by dark bishop. Anything I'm missing here? This is the position that is at 6:16 in the video

This is a heck of an interesting example match for showing how the point value of the various pieces is highly relative to their position in time (move number) and space. The Queen sacrifice clearly pays off when White is up a Rook and a Bishop plus Pawns (to be determined) but also having lured the Black King to the dark corner... he can have his Queen (while she'll do him any good.) Thanks for the vid!

6:16 isn't Nxg5 the best move for white (f3 was played)? Black cannot recapture due to 1.Nxg5 fxg5 2. Rxh6# Why does it not work??
@jevinliu46584 жыл бұрын
As for Rxh6, the bishop on g5 defends it. It is an admirable idea that would screw black if g5 was not a bishop, though
@maxarmstrong91204 жыл бұрын
Jevin Liu ohh thank you very much! I must have mistaken the bishop for a pawn, haha! Edit: wait what, There is no bishop because of Nxg5!!

At 11:56 isnt the best pawn captures knight? And when bishop captures queen you can capture with the king. Getting two pieces for a queen instead of queen captures knight

It’s crazy though how all that was played in just 2 minutes XD

At 6:16 after Re8 what’s wrong with Nxg5? If fxe4 wouldn’t Rxh3 be mate, or at best Nxg5 Rxd4 Cxd4 fxg5 winning the exchange?

After black move his rook to e8, why did the white knight refused to take the bishop on g5? A crushing move,what do you think?

After Rfe8 f3 is a mistake... you can play kxg5 and there is no fg cause rxh6 is a mate since after fg you open the d4 bishops diagonal

As someone interested in Chess but also CSGO, I have to say while analyzing a game of chess is very entertaining, watching a chess tournament is just not comparable to one in CSGO. Still, 500 is reeeally not much so that's a shame.

@TomVanWae3 жыл бұрын
Bishop would move to f5, forcing king to move, e1 rook can capture queen
@Lurker873 жыл бұрын
@@TomVanWae I think QxR, Bf5+ Qg6, BxQ+ KxB isn’t the worst though. Just down one pawn, while white has two pairs of doubled pawns.

Why 23. f3 and not Nxg5? If black takes it, ...fxg5, then Rxh6 mate. And if Rxd4, then Nf7+ and taking the rook afterwards. Or did I miss something here?

Question instead of King to G6 for black why not take castle when it is being blocked by the light square bishop?
