I have a theory that the lyrics of the witches road means that if someone completes the road it means their whole coven completes the road and they're all restored to life. Agatha is said to be the only witch to complete the road, but I don't think she completed it...she's the only one to survive. I think her whole coven died and she just left to save herself and if you die on the road without the coven completing the road then the death is permanent.

Adding to that, we saw in this episode there is a way to leave the road without completing it. We saw that one of the road's underground pathways led to Westview's abandoned subway system, presumably a way to leave the road and go back to the "real world".

One of my favorite parts of the episode, and extra kudos to the writing, is the maestra being able to teach Lilja no matter what stage in her life and experiences are. She's ready to teach the most advanced to introduction and change direction from second to second. A teacher for life, though her student is passing through phases of her own life right before her. I think Agatha did kill Nicholas, same way she killed Alice. I think he was 3 or 4 and unable to control his powers, and unintentionally blasted her with them and she absorbed and killed him. That’s why in the treehouse you hear him say, “Mamma, stop!” And the reason she tells Billy in an upcoming episode that “the truth is too terrible” or something to that affect”. I truly think she can’t control absorbing others powers, it’s why she can’t die. It’s a defense mechanism.

I respect their theory that he died of natural causes, and i respect your theory too, but it contradicts the plot point that agatha traded her son (presumably his life to be taken by death) for the darkhold, which seems to be confirmed by her vision in the beach house where she pulls back the blanket and the book appears. why would she have that vision if it's not what happened?

I'm thinking Agatha was born with the auto-merc skill and started off as an innocent child. She got the Naruto treatment and sought out the darkhold to 'cure' herself, which unintentionally cost her her child. Adding salt to the wound, the darkhold is unable to take away her power. Mad with grief, Agatha becomes the jaded, unapologetic witch we know today.

Lilia is alive. She told Agatha to "hit the deck" at the very end, so she lived the future at some point when she was flashing. I think all of them need to die to leave the road, hence their roads lead to Death. (Not me coping about Alice's death)

The fact they didn’t answer if he was Billy or William is left unanswered. In the comics he is Billy Kaplan. This would be a combination of Billy Maximoff and William Kaplan. Notice how teen says he already has a mom he’s not claiming Wanda as his mother claiming the regular human as his mom because he didn’t really remember anything prior to Billy inhabiting his body. There were still remnants of William, but there is also the soul of Billy

I think the Lilia we see in the series is just her own divination as a young witch, she was predicting her future (in pieces and gaps). And when she goes back to her child self at the end, she has the choice to change how she dies, tarot isn't a life sentence, it's a tool to help you understand how your life unfolds if you continue acting like Lilia was, a Hermit, she isolated her self. So now back in her present time (child Lilia) she can choose not to isolate, but to join/build a coven, empower fellow witches (3 of pentacles) which will lead her to a more fulfilling life, where she can actually embrace and love the craft. Death for her is a rebirth, because she will walk a different path in life from the one she had divined as her young self.

Interesting detail of the costumes in this episode is that Lilia is the only one of them who was dressed as a character who didn't die in their own stories. The evil queen from Snow White, Wicked Witch of the West from Oz, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty all died in their own stories.

I 100% think that The Witches' Road that they are on is a hex created by Billy. In a trailer clip we see him standing over a blue pentagon above the entrance to the road in Agatha's basement. Then there is the whole road being designed after Billy's room. On top of that, Agatha seemed to be skeptical of the road, telling Billy it suits him when they first walk through it and the fact that she seems to be surprised by it. Agatha did also say "I didn't think you had it in you" when looking over Mrs. Heart's body - she meant Billy because she wouldn't be surprised that Rio would kill someone. I think Agatha did walk the Witches' Road, but the actual road. This one isn't it, it's a hex just like in Wandavision. He created a hex in the subway station tunnels, that's why Lilia and Jen saw the exit of the road leading to the abandoned train. The roots along that tunnel are the boundary of Billy's hex. Also, when they first sing the witches' ballad the entrance does not appear until Billy storms into the basement. The actual road did not open because the coven was incomplete when they sang the ballad, but Billy conjured the entrance into a road created by him - whether he knows it or not. That has to explain why he starts every trial, and the road is a stickler for rules, just like he is.

The main thing this is leading to is how they all need each other even with their sacrifices, this is all important for Agatha’s realisation. It’s becoming clear that her mother never really loved or wanted her, neglect turning into abuse and how the abused can become the abuser. She had never really learned how to be part of a coven, Alice basically saved her, whilst she killed Alice in return, she wasn’t in control of her power, it’s automatic, it’s spawned from the heartbreak she’s suffered which hasn’t dealt with at that point. Lilia knew this as she was reading the cards correctly, she didn’t have to face her reading but chose to not for her self in facing death but the coven as a whole, Lilia accepted Alice’s death and forgave Agatha within the reading as well as seeing Billy/Williams true form “The Magician” WICCAN, and Jen as the High Priestess. It’s now up to Agatha to face her heartbreak and open her heart, Billy to become the joined up Billy/William Wiccan and Jen as an unbound and sure high priestess.

So, in watching this and listening to y'all talk about Rio taking Agatha's son, it made me think of something: At the end of episode 6, Agatha monologues to Billy about how "he broke the rules, big deal. What matters is he's alive." I've seen a lot of people talk about how that might be her talking about herself. BUT what if she's actually talking about Nicholas? What if whenever Rio came to take Nick, Agatha pleaded to her, and Rio was like "There are rules, laws that can't be broken, things that can't be fixed." So her talking about the "rules" was how she felt about losing her son, and a part of why she hates Death.

I have a theory that Jen is the one who makes it to the end of the road. Lilia's divination told her that she will be the High Priestess. The high priestess is the leader of a coven. The road will give her what she's missing which are her dead coven members and they will all leave the road. There is a scene of Jen leaving the road to westview in one of the trailers. Billy and Agatha gets trapped somewhere with Rio. Rio attacks Billy for escaping death. Agatha defends Billy since Death is not allowed to kill, while Billy uses his spellbook to create a portal out of the road/dimension. There is a scene of Billy in one of the trailers where he tries to open a portal.

This Episode was Absolutely Phenomenal and Definitely My Favorite One Yet. It was So Brilliantly Written and I Loved that we got to see it from Lilia's Perspective it was Such Clever Storytelling. I Loved how they intertwined all the moments from the previous Episodes where She was seeing into The Future. Patti LuPone was Phenomenal and deserves an Award for Her Performance in This Episode That Sacrifice at The End was So Emotional and such a Beautiful Ending for Her Character. R.I.P. Lilia. And That Lady Death Reveal was Insane!!! This Show just keeps Getting Better and Better Every Episode and I Can't Wait to see how it Ends!!!

I know it got brushed last really quickly, but to lend credit to the theory that rio came for these witches for cheating death one way or another, Alice technically had been evading death for years under her mother’s protection spell. She should have died to the curse long ago. As for Sharon, it’s possible that she’s just a casualty; she was never meant to be there, just dragged to her doom by Agatha.

I think Agatha told the truth. She walked the road before, just not this road, because this road is just Billy's manifestation, like how WestView was to Wanda. Billy has this power to manifest things, like how in this episode he wished Lilia was there and there she was! This would explain why Agatha looked shocked when she saw the door to the road and touched the dirt from the road. She seems confused the whole time despite trying to hide it and Billy seemed more knowledgeable about the road. Agatha knows this, that's the Maximoff "tell", thus "you're just like your mother" line.

Erik’s comment around 26:20 reminds me of Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development from developmental psychology. Google it and look at the stage around age 65 - integrity vs despair. The theory says that people at this age generally feel either satisfied with what they’ve accomplished in life, or they have regret/despair over feeling they didn’t do what they wanted get done or they didn’t make the impact they wanted to.

Lilia said that she had huge gaps in her childhood and now she’s gone back to that time. I think she has several years to live back then before she comes back to die. So in our timeline she’s already dead, but from her perspective she still has a bit left to live.

Random ah ha moment. Not sure if anyone has said this. Rio is Death. In Portuguese, rio means river. It made me think about the River Styx in Greek Mythology. Rio wants her bodies (dead people)…River Styx is the path those that have passed on use to get to the Underworld…

Lilia lived a long time, but also upon unlocking her power, it's implied that her "life flashed before her eyes" but literally. She was able to travel to different points of her life and therefore live it all simultaneously all at once. I want her to survive but if she's permanently dead then she's lived hundreds of years and all at once throughout her life because of her powers.

I’m hoping Wanda doesn’t come back yet and that Agatha doesn’t get her powers back or her son Nicholas but that she becomes the teacher/guide for Teen to learn how to control his magic in the ways that Agatha was pointing out to Wanda at the end of Wandavision. So that he doesn’t accidentally kill people or mind control an entire town when he gets emotional

Following the episode naming trend through the Ballad of the Witches Road lyrics, the last 2 episodes will be called "Blood and tears and bone" and "Maiden, Mother, Crone". I think Ep8 will be the Agatha/Rio explanation and how their relationship developed and lead to Nicholas' death. Then Ep9, I dunno Ive not figured it out yet
