This is pretty much the ultimate cringe video, because its a perfect storm of awkward. (1)She starts off talking and asks him to stop, and he appears to ignore her. (2)Despite that she continues about her imminent life threatening cancer issue, which is partially drowned out by ridiculous cute game sounds. (3) She says "I'm not sure if you guys had noticed, but I've been knitting all the time" - which implies the whole room had been looking at her wondering why she was knitting, when they clearly weren't (4)"I'm pretty much going to die of cancer" She doesn't really know that, and its not the sort of thing most people would say (5)The whole room is full of young nerdy guys, who completely do not know how to deal with the situation, so the entire room sits there silently and is awkward. (6)The guy playing can't hear her, so continues playing, seemingly ignoring her, with no compassion. (7)Then finally she starts crying, and the whole room claps, and one person gives her a hug - the guy claps for ten seconds, and goes back to playing. You probably can't fit any more cringe factors into a 2 minutes video.

When all you're raised on is video games/anime and the internet you have no sense of self awareness. Probably no support system so she doesn't understand how to open up to others in a healthy way. Immensely cringy though.

@@kylehallman8183 Bruh you sound like such a boomer lmao. "Kids these days and their rock music! They'll never make friends listening to the devil's music!" "TV will be the death of America! Violence in movies makes children seek out violence!" "Playing games removes your self awareness! They'll never be able to support themselves." People have mental illnesses, issues, or are just otherwise cringey as fuck regardless of their interests. It has literally nothing to do with playing video games, as the other 30 people who were equally nerdy or even nerdier than her were able to keep their composure and not force their life story on everyone. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of how dumb you sounded, that's all. A common courtesy, if you will. Try to keep up with the times, as they are a changin'. Spouting bigoted shit based on biases and prejudices that you have already established is generally a bad thing to do, and generally does not make you many friends. Jokes aside, though, I've been raised on video games, for the most part. Super Nintendo, SNES, N64, PS1 and pretty much everything up until the Xbox 360. Also had a virtual boy, and my eyes still hurt to this day. Not to mention having a PC and getting in to World of Warcraft in 2004. Even with all of that, I still went to school, had friends, and did normal shit my entire life. Hilariously, I actually met a girl in WoW in 2013, we hit it off, and she moved in with me 3 months later. We've been married for 4 years, and I am eternally grateful for having met her; if we both weren't nerdy as fuck, we never would have met. If anything, being raised on video games has given me more friends over the years. A few of my best friends, that I've known for years, are people I met online. Some people just don't have it as easy, simply put. I don't think we should really sit here laughing at how awkward she is, and now this moment is immortalized forever. I can't even imagine the mental anguish she would go through reading these comments. She certainly has issues, and this was definitely the improper setting to share her story. Perhaps we can all learn from the experience, and be better for it.

200% attention seeking, no doubt in my mind. That "I have a 50% chance of dying from cancer" is proof of it, besides the whole scenario in general. There is no possible way she can know she has a 50% chance, or any percentage of a chance, of dying from cancer. Her whole idea of this is based on her grandmother's death, which she used as a crutch to garner sympathy for. Awful and selfish person.

Used to work for a nonprofit that hosted events for kids like these who didn’t socialize often and were very introvert. We were meant to help them develop social skills in social settings etc. what I came to learn is that a lot of them lack a sense to read or even recognize social cues. Even to the most basic social behavior it was difficult for them to grasp it and let alone implement it.
@Justpassingby204 Жыл бұрын
Did you find any solutions for these types of people? How do they go about learning ?
@DanielGonzalez-sp9xz Жыл бұрын
@@Justpassingby204 it really did depend on the individual. Some kids it was simple we would first find out what sort of game they liked. For example if they enjoyed a table top game like monopoly, we would have them play in a group but play a game within a game by having them intersect during the game not just play in silence. So for example when it was your turn we would ask you to share a fact of yourself anything worked, like a kid saying I have a pet dog then we would slowly see them open up as they got more comfortable they’d ask questions or even start up conversation amongst themselves. You have to be creative, by putting them in what would be considered a casual safe space they could be more likely to speak up then we slowly grew the size of the groups by having the kids interact in larger settings.

A little unfair to call all of them socially inept, when she was being so hyperbolic about her "I may get cancer" thing. A little hard to know what to do in that situation and the fact that it's being livestreamed doesn't help.
@jundullah9869 Жыл бұрын
@@Fragrantcanary I think bro was talking overall, nerdy guys are socially-awkward introvert people and in any stressful or very demanding social situation they are unarmed and don't know how to deal with it. And it was pretty to deal with the situation, basically anyone saying "can you please shut up for a second? We are here to enjoy the speedrun, not doing your therapy session", yes it's rude and a little mean, but it would be highly deserved for those attention whores crybabies, if they never learn their lessons they will never change, so lets go hard with it.
