When I was 38 I moved next door to an older couple. That man was 26 years older but quickly became my best friend. After a couple of years he was the brother I always wanted, even though I already had a brother; he just didn't know how to be a good brother.

Greetings Sisters, My wife and I are no spring chickens ourselves, but when we moved and joined our church, the Lord blessed us with several older friends and couples! It's nice to have good friends who are different ages from us as the more mature one often has good life advice for the younger one. One of my best friends is 25 years older than I am and on the flip side I have another close friend who is 20 years younger than me.

I am 70 yrs old and besides my "bestie" since we were 12, most of my gal pals are between 10 and 20 years younger than me. Friendships know no age limits. Great to "meet" your friend Shelley. Merry Christmas!!

Stav, I really loved the conversation you had with Shelly. I have a close, maybe closest, friend also who is about 25 yrs. younger than me. She and I tackle life in prayer and have seen God work miracles in our families. Shelly is right. The age thing disappears with believers.

When I was forced to relocate from Alaska to Kentucky, due to job cuts during the Obidenama economic recovery of 2014, I started working for State government. Due to the nature of the job, most of my coworkers were in their late 20s to early 30s. I am 59 in 6 days. We have similar political and social views, and hobbies. It is funny when we grab lunch, as everyone asks how my sons are doing. We just take it in stride and say they are brothers from another mother...lol

I especially liked the section with Shelley, such wonderful love between friends and believers. No disrespect, but I have to snicker about deer hunting. Being in suburbia, they come right up to the fence to snack on any rose leaf that dares escape the yard. We call them 'rats on stilts'. The silly neighbors put apples and water bowls out for them- a BAD idea because then the coyotes come up to the houses and eat the pets! Merry Christmas Stav! Praise the Lord and be grateful every day! 💗
